Exciting event series happening in Morris. Starting tonight at the Ag Country auditorium at the West Central Research and Outreach Center West Central Initiative and University of Minnesota Morris are partnering to bring you Morris Community Conversations; Towards a Positive Rural Vision.

Tonight's event starts at 5:30 PM with a meal followed by an hour long conversation.
Tonight's speaker will be MN Secretary of State Steve Simon. The conversation will be moderated by Elizabeth Dunbar, editor of MinnPost. Tonight's conversation will focus on the intersections between democracy, rural leadership, community engagement, and climate action.
Later this spring...
On March 21st, Ben Wi******er, a nationally recognized researcher in rural leadership will discuss the ins and outs of the human capacity required to run a small town.
On April 22nd, Earth Day, Dr. Pete Wyckoff, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce will be here talking about climate action and the Inflation Reduction Act. Before returning to Minnesota to work with the department of Commerce, Wyckoff worked as an energy policy advisor in Sen. Smith's office and was instrumental in the passage of the IRA.
The series is comprised community conversations that tackle themes essential for our region —democracy, leadership, and climate action.
