🚍 Happy National Rural Transit Day!

Today, we celebrate the connections that keep our rural communities moving.

Public transportation is about so much more than getting from one place to another. It's about connecting people to healthcare appointments, grocery stores, employment, education, senior centers, and the services that help them live healthy, independent lives.

In a rural community like ours, every ride represents an opportunity—an opportunity to access care, stay connected with loved ones, remain independent, or simply participate in community life.

At Newton County Community Services, we're proud to provide safe, reliable transportation that helps strengthen our community every day. We are grateful to our drivers, staff, community partners, and riders who make this service possible.

🎉 Come celebrate with us tonight at the Newton County Punkin' Vine Fair!

We'll be located behind the Community Building, where you can:
🚌 Tour one of our transit vehicles
👋 Meet our team
🚍 Learn more about our transportation services
🎁 Pick up some fun giveaways
💙 Celebrate the important role rural public transportation plays in keeping our community connected.

Whether you're already one of our riders or simply want to learn more about the services available, we'd love to see you!

Together, we're creating meaningful community connections—one ride at a time.

⭐️ Employee Spotlight: Renee ⭐️
This month, we're excited to feature Renee, one of the newest members of our Public Transportation team. Renee joined us with a background in the casino industry, bringing strong customer service skills, integrity, and the ability to adapt to new situations. Those qualities have made her a wonderful addition to our team.

Renee was looking for a role that would allow her to connect with people and become more involved in the community. She understands the value that everyday interactions and meaningful connections can have, and she enjoys getting to know the clients she serves. Her calm demeanor, caring attitude, and commitment to providing safe, reliable transportation make her a great fit for our organization.

Outside of work, Renee enjoys spending time with her dog and heading out to fish whenever she gets the chance. If you see her around, be sure to ask about her latest fishing trip—or her most recent catch! 🎣

We are thankful to have Renee on our team and appreciate the kindness, dedication, and positive attitude she brings to serving our community. Thank you, Renee, for all you do!

Newton County Community Services provides nutrition services to seniors 60+ in Newton County, Indiana. Just this year we served 14,000 hot senior meals, but our services goes beyond food. We work to reduce social isolation and focus on overall health and well-being. We connect older adults with other community support like fall prevention classes, energy assistance, health education, fraud prevention, and more. Come see what we are all about. There is room for you at our table!
