Today we were honored to receive a blessing from the Knox Helms Post 554 Morley American Legion!

This donation allows us to purchase the remainder of SCBA masks and bags that we needed to ensure safety of our firefighters!

Please help us get the word out and share!

The Morley Area Fire Auxiliary is working to raise money to help the fire department purchase new SCBA masks (and bags to store the masks in).

Our team is sharing masks, and after their annual fit testing that’s required by law we have learned of “fit” issues. Masks that don’t fit, don’t protect the firefighters lungs when it’s time to answer a call for help.

That being said, the Auxiliary used the funds from this past weekend’s pancake breakfast and placed an order for four new masks and seven new storage bags. We’re half way to our goal…we need 4 more masks and 5 more bags. We have placed boots at the following business for our “Fill the Boot” fundraiser!

Simply drop in your change/cash or scan the Venmo barcode. We can use all the help we can get to meet our goal ($1,768)!! Any amount helps and we’re truly grateful for the support at the pancake breakfast, you’re making a difference!! 🔥❤️

🚒🎓🔥📜Congratulations to Our Newest State Certified Firefighter! 📜🔥🎓🚒

Please join us in congratulating Matthew Bongard on successfully completing the Mecosta County Fire Academy and becoming State of Michigan Certified Firefighter I & II personnel.

Since October, Matthew, has dedicated himself to the academy by attending night classes every Monday and Thursday, along with occasional all-day Saturday sessions. He completed over 240 hours of training to become eligible for state testing.

The certification process included both a 200-question written examination and a multi-station practical skills evaluation.
By successfully completing both portions, he has officially earned their State of Michigan Firefighter I & II certifications.

We are proud of his hard work and determination throughout the academy process and look forward to watching his continued growth as a firefighter.
We are grateful for his dedication to our community and thankful for him on the Morley Fire Department Team!
