On Spirit of ’45 Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity of the World War II generation, the folks who fought to protect our freedom and shape the world we live in today. Among those heroes were glider pilots, guys who flew silent, unarmed gliders into dangerous territory, delivering troops and gear where they were needed most.

This photo shows an authentic TG-2, a WWII training glider, flying over Torrey Pines back in February 2002. If you know any living WWII veterans, take the time to thank them for their service and listen to their stories.
