Yesterday, members took part in Firefighter Frenzy, along with members of MorganvilleFireDepartment283 and Gordons Corner Fire Company where we competed against students of the Goddard School of Morganville, to raise funds for Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation. Unfortunately for us, the children came prepared to win and defeated us in every round.

We're happy to announce that through the combined efforts, we raised $785 which will be donated.

Today, at approximately 4:40pm, the department was requested to respond into area for a vehicle fire in a junkyard.

Upon arrival of Morganville Chief Smith 28-3-66, he advised he had multiple vehicles on fire, along with a scrap pile. The Chief requested our tanker to assist with a water supply, as there are no hydrants located on the property. Together, both districts worked together to extinguish the fire quickly, which was then turned over to Monmouth County Hazmat.

The fire posed no threat to the general public, and is under investigation by the Marlboro Township Fire Bureau.

Dressed to Impress!

Today, the department was requested into Manalapan Township at 2:20pm for a structure fire. The engine was tasked with taking the hydrant and relaying water to other engines down the line.

The hydrant was fully dressed with 3 - 5" intakes and 2 - 5" discharges going to the fire, with limited water from a hydrant.

A while later, tankers were brought in and the engine broke down hose, and simultaneously started filling tankers, with the assistance of members from .

The engine was cleared at 5:32pm.

Today at 15:05, the department was dispatched for a lawn mower on fire. Upon arrival of Assistant Chief Badler, he reported a working lawn mower fire with no exposures.

Engine 28-2-75 arrived shortly later and used a 1 3/4" handline with foam to extinguish the blaze. Monmouth County Hazmat was requested to respond do to gasoline running into a storm drain.

Marlboro Township Fire Bureau is investigating the incident.

Marlboro locals, get ready for continued snowfall tonight, lasting into tomorrow afternoon, with clearer conditions expected around 3-4pm. Anticipate snow accumulations of 12-16 inches, with some areas potentially reaching 18-20 inches. This is expected to be an all-snow event. Dry weather is forecasted to return on Tuesday. Overnight, winds from the north will be brisk, reaching 15-20 mph and gusting 30-40 mph. By Monday morning, wind gusts may still hit 30 mph. Monday night through Tuesday, winds will remain breezy from the northeast at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25-30 mph. Tonight's temperatures will stay in the low 30s, rise to the mid-30s on Monday, with Monday night's lows in the upper 20s. Wind chill values will drop to the teens overnight and range in the 20s tomorrow. Confidence in this forecast is high.

🚨 BLIZZARD WARNING – Resident Safety Reminder 🚨

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for our area. Heavy snow, strong winds, and dangerous travel conditions are expected. Please stay home unless absolutely necessary.

As you clear snow, DO NOT forget these critical safety tips:

❄️ Keep Vents & Equipment Clear
Snow buildup can block exhaust systems and lead to dangerous carbon monoxide (CO) buildup inside your home.

Please make sure to clear snow away from:
Furnace vents
Hot water heater vents
Dryer vents
Gas meters & regulators
Generator exhaust outlets

✔️ Keep all vents clear at least 2–3 feet around and above the outlet.

✔️ Check them again after heavy snow or drifting.

🔥 Generator Safety
NEVER run a generator inside your home or garage — even if the garage door is open.

NEVER place generators near doors, windows, or vents.

Keep generators at least 20 feet away from your home with exhaust pointed away from the structure.
Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and can be fatal within minutes.

🚗 Additional Safety Reminders
Remove snow from around fire hydrants if one is near your home.

Check on elderly neighbors and family members.

Take breaks often when shoveling heavy snow.

Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn, and NEVER plug them into an extension cord.

Make sure you have working CO and smoke alarms.

If you experience dizziness, headache, nausea, or confusion — get outside to fresh air immediately and call 911.

Attention Marlboro Residents: We are experiencing rain at the moment, but further north in northern New Jersey, a mix of rain and snow is already underway. Rain will remain dominant for the next hour or so, gradually shifting to a snow-rain mix, and eventually predicted to turn entirely into snow as we move into the evening. Expect heavy snowfall to intensify later tonight, continuing through the night into Monday afternoon, followed by flurries lingering into the evening. We might face up to 12 inches of snow, with some areas potentially receiving as much as 24 inches in heavy snowfall bands. This will be accompanied by strong winds developing tonight into tomorrow, with constant speeds of 20-25 mph and gusts between 35-45 mph, potentially reaching 50-60 mph at times. While temperatures aren't expected to be severely low, wind chills could make it feel like the mid-teens. Tonight's low is likely to be around 30 degrees, and highs on Monday may reach up to the mid-30s. Significant winter conditions are heavily anticipated, though there's still some uncertainty as to whether snowfall will reach its maximum predicted levels. *** A winter storm watch is in effect Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. The latest trend in guidance has been a shift westward with the expected coastal low, which is looking to draw more snow to the area during this time. A rain/snow mix still looks to start early Sunday morning, probably around 3am. A rain/snow mix may then continue, but things change over to snow Sunday afternoon. Heavier snow then starts to develop into Sunday evening and overnight, likely continuing through Monday morning before tapering to flurries. Snow totals of 5-10" are possible. Overall confidence on exact totals is medium-low, but confidence is generally increasing at the risk of higher snowfall occurring. High confidence that we see at least around 5" of snow with the current setup.
