What a sweet afternoon at the Hanging Rocks Ice Cream Social! 🍦👑

We spent the day creating crowns and sashes, enjoying delicious Oatmazing ice cream topped with pink sprinkles and a crown, and making wonderful memories with friends and families from across our community.

A huge thank you to Jenna and her incredible crew for their hospitality and support. Because of events like this, we were able to raise funds that will help provide even more art supplies for teachers and students through Katie's Kits.

As I finish packing and preparing for Miss West Virginia check-in, I can't help but reflect on my reason for competing.

This journey is about so much more than a dream or an accolade—it is my mission field. Through the Miss America Opportunity, I have been given the chance to shine God's light, share His love, and create meaningful ways to serve others. That is where the story of Katie's Kits Inc. began.

Since 2024, I have been serving underserved rural communities across West Virginia by providing access to arts supplies and creative opportunities. Through this work, I have seen firsthand the need that exists in our schools and communities. Too many students and teachers are expected to succeed without access to the resources they deserve.

Katie's Kits was created to help bridge that gap, and it will continue to do so because this is about more than an organization. For many, it is a lifeline, a source of encouragement, and an opportunity they may not have otherwise had.

As I prepare for this week, I dedicate this journey to the communities that have supported me every step of the way. Your donations, requests, shares, and words of encouragement have allowed Katie's Kits to grow far beyond what I ever imagined. Seeing so many people embrace this mission and invest in the lives of others brings me immense joy and reminds me why this work matters.

I will continue advocating for those who may not have a voice of their own and serving communities across our Wild and Wonderful State. Thank you for supporting Katie's Kits and helping make a difference—one kit, one classroom, and one child at a time.

West Virginia, thank you for believing in me. It is an honor to represent the communities, classrooms, and children who inspire this work every day. This week, I compete for you. 💜

During Katie's Kits' annual road drive fundraiser, we were able to distribute more than 95 Mini Kits directly into the hands of children and families who stopped to support our nonprofit.

One of my favorite parts of this event is the opportunity to give back immediately. While our community generously supports Katie's Kits, we work hard to ensure that generosity comes full circle by placing creative resources directly into the hands of children.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your support allows us to continue providing free art supplies to students, teachers, and underserved communities across West Virginia.

As funding challenges continue to impact creative opportunities for young people, Katie's Kits remains committed to ensuring children have access to the tools they need to learn, create, and express themselves.

Delivery for Ms. Alyssa Corwell 💜

This custom kit was donated to Ms. Alyssa Corwell, a first-year teacher who was preparing for her very first classroom with little to no supplies provided to support her students. Wanting to help make a difference, her aide, Ms. Ashlyn Oster, reached out to Katie's Kits and asked if a kit could be provided for Ms. Corwell, requesting that it remain a surprise.

Watching Ms. Ashlyn present this kit to Ms. Corwell was incredibly special. As a new teacher, she was already stepping into a role that requires so much dedication, and no educator should have to begin their teaching career worried about whether they have the basic supplies needed for their students.

At Katie's Kits, we believe every teacher deserves the resources necessary to create a successful learning environment. When classrooms lack supplies, it doesn't just affect educators—it directly impacts the students they serve. Together, we can help ensure that teachers and students alike have the tools they need to learn, create, and succeed.

The arts have always held a special place in my heart, and I will forever be passionate about giving back to arts education whenever I can.

With school budgets continuing to face challenges, Katie's Kits Inc. recently had the opportunity to deliver a kit to Ms. Katie Ott at Berkeley Heights Elementary School. Filled with paper, glue, pencils, crayons, and other creative supplies, this kit will help provide students with the tools they need to bring their imaginations to life.

Ms. Ott does an incredible job encouraging creativity in her classroom through hands-on projects that inspire her students and often extend beyond the classroom to make a positive impact in the community. Her dedication to fostering artistic expression and meaningful service is truly admirable.

We are grateful for educators like Ms. Ott who pour so much into their students each day, and we are honored to play a small role in supporting the amazing work happening in her classroom. Thank you for all you do for your students and our community!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to donate a Katie’s Kits kit to the Pre-K program at South Branch Elementary School. Later, I attended Queen Day where I had the chance to speak with the teachers and share more about the mission behind Katie’s Kits Inc.

I am incredibly appreciative of every opportunity to give back to our school systems and support the students and educators who make such a difference each day.

This Memorial Day, Katie’s Kits Inc. honors the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Today, we remember their sacrifice, reflect on the freedoms they fought to protect, and extend our deepest gratitude to the families who carry their legacy each day.
