Some moments truly feel like once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and being able to deliver Katie’s Kits to Grace Christian School in Inverness, Florida was one of those moments for me.

I’m incredibly thankful to Deborah and Franz Betschart for sponsoring these kits for the students at Grace Christian School and for helping with the travel expenses that allowed me to personally deliver them. Your generosity allowed me to bring Katie’s Kits to Florida and do something I genuinely love.

I’m also incredibly thankful for the teachers who reach out when their classrooms need support and for everyone who continues to share and promote Katie’s Kits. Every person who plays a part in this mission helps me reach another classroom, another student, and another community that can benefit from the arts.

I’m grateful that what started in West Virginia is continuing to grow and reach students in Kentucky, Florida, and beyond. 🎨🎶

During Miss West Virginia Week, I found out that one of my dearest friends, Miss Mountain State, Dakota Swiger, was just a few toys short of reaching her goal of donating 100 toys to Shriners Hospital in Kentucky.

Shriners holds a special place in Dakota’s heart. After undergoing multiple spinal surgeries there because of her scoliosis, she now gets to give back to the hospital that gave her so much throughout her own journey. She put a lot of thought into the toys she collected, choosing ones that allowed children with different conditions and disabilities to see themselves represented.

When I heard she was close to her goal, I knew I wanted to help. Through Katie’s Kits, we were able to donate 30+ kits to Dakota, helping her reach 100 toys and continue beyond her original goal.

Getting to help a friend accomplish something that meant this much to her was incredibly special to me. Dakota, I’m incredibly proud of you and the heart you continue to show through giving back. Thank you for letting Katie’s Kits be a small part of something meaningful.

In June, Katie’s Kits Inc. had the incredible opportunity to deliver an Art on the Move: Katie’s Arts Cart to the Children’s Home Society of Martinsburg!

What makes opportunities like this so meaningful is knowing that we are not simply providing art supplies to one child. We are helping create a space where many children can explore their creativity, express themselves, embrace what makes them unique, and connect with others through the power of art.

This Art on the Move cart will provide children with a variety of creative resources and opportunities to use their imaginations, express themselves freely, and experience the joy that art can bring.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share the power of art with another community in West Virginia. Together, we can continue creating spaces where children feel encouraged, supported, and free to be themselves, one brushstroke at a time.

Katie's Kits is built on the support of our community. While monetary donations help us purchase supplies, gift donations are just as meaningful. Thanks to the generosity of groups like Renatum, we're able to continue putting art supplies into the hands of teachers and students who need them most.

Nonprofits thrive because of the people who believe in their mission. Every donation, whether it's supplies, time, or financial support, helps us give back to the same communities that continue to support us. I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who helps make the free gift of art possible.

What a sweet afternoon at the Hanging Rocks Ice Cream Social! 🍦👑

We spent the day creating crowns and sashes, enjoying delicious Oatmazing ice cream topped with pink sprinkles and a crown, and making wonderful memories with friends and families from across our community.

A huge thank you to Jenna and her incredible crew for their hospitality and support. Because of events like this, we were able to raise funds that will help provide even more art supplies for teachers and students through Katie's Kits.

As I finish packing and preparing for Miss West Virginia check-in, I can't help but reflect on my reason for competing.

This journey is about so much more than a dream or an accolade—it is my mission field. Through the Miss America Opportunity, I have been given the chance to shine God's light, share His love, and create meaningful ways to serve others. That is where the story of Katie's Kits Inc. began.

Since 2024, I have been serving underserved rural communities across West Virginia by providing access to arts supplies and creative opportunities. Through this work, I have seen firsthand the need that exists in our schools and communities. Too many students and teachers are expected to succeed without access to the resources they deserve.

Katie's Kits was created to help bridge that gap, and it will continue to do so because this is about more than an organization. For many, it is a lifeline, a source of encouragement, and an opportunity they may not have otherwise had.

As I prepare for this week, I dedicate this journey to the communities that have supported me every step of the way. Your donations, requests, shares, and words of encouragement have allowed Katie's Kits to grow far beyond what I ever imagined. Seeing so many people embrace this mission and invest in the lives of others brings me immense joy and reminds me why this work matters.

I will continue advocating for those who may not have a voice of their own and serving communities across our Wild and Wonderful State. Thank you for supporting Katie's Kits and helping make a difference—one kit, one classroom, and one child at a time.

West Virginia, thank you for believing in me. It is an honor to represent the communities, classrooms, and children who inspire this work every day. This week, I compete for you. 💜

During Katie's Kits' annual road drive fundraiser, we were able to distribute more than 95 Mini Kits directly into the hands of children and families who stopped to support our nonprofit.

One of my favorite parts of this event is the opportunity to give back immediately. While our community generously supports Katie's Kits, we work hard to ensure that generosity comes full circle by placing creative resources directly into the hands of children.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your support allows us to continue providing free art supplies to students, teachers, and underserved communities across West Virginia.

Delivery for Ms. Alyssa Corwell 💜

This custom kit was donated to Ms. Alyssa Corwell, a first-year teacher who was preparing for her very first classroom with little to no supplies provided to support her students. Wanting to help make a difference, her aide, Ms. Ashlyn Oster, reached out to Katie's Kits and asked if a kit could be provided for Ms. Corwell, requesting that it remain a surprise.

Watching Ms. Ashlyn present this kit to Ms. Corwell was incredibly special. As a new teacher, she was already stepping into a role that requires so much dedication, and no educator should have to begin their teaching career worried about whether they have the basic supplies needed for their students.

At Katie's Kits, we believe every teacher deserves the resources necessary to create a successful learning environment. When classrooms lack supplies, it doesn't just affect educators—it directly impacts the students they serve. Together, we can help ensure that teachers and students alike have the tools they need to learn, create, and succeed.
