Firsthand Cooperative Firsthand Cooperative is a fair trade coffee company located in the heart of Appalachia that is connecting mountain communities around the world.

We believe everyone, especially farmers, deserve a fair share of the profits from the global coffee trade. Firsthand Cooperative is a people-centered network that supports the solidarity economy in Nicaragua and Appalachia through cooperation, experimentation, and action. We use coffee sales to both raise awareness around issues of social and economic justice in mountain communities, and to invest in the development of cooperative, family, and social businesses.
