In celebration of the State of West Virginia’s birthday, we are proud to offer pro bono conceptual architecture services for the sixth year in a row to support visionary, community-centered projects across the state. We believe in the power of design to strengthen communities, inspire change, and bring meaningful ideas to life. These services focus on early-stage design visioning, idea development, and spatial exploration for individuals, nonprofits, and grassroots organizations whose work aligns with our values.

For this special initiative, we will be selecting one project from each of the following regions in West Virginia: the Northern Panhandle, Eastern Panhandle, Mountaineer Country, and Central West Virginia. While we review every submission with care, we are only able to take on four projects total and reserve the right to select recipients at our sole discretion.

Please complete the form at the link below to tell us more about your project. Thank you for your interest—we look forward to learning about your work and your community.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS MAY 27TH

Last month, BAC Staff Member Ray was invited to speak at a "Good News" event in Logan, WV. One of Logan's prominent initiatives that is underway is their Rural Medical Residency program in partnership with Marshall University and additionally supported by the Opportunity Appalachia program.

Technical Assistance from Opportunity Appalachia was utilized to financially and architecturally define the reuse of the “Banner Building,” a former newspaper production facility, for reuse as medical residential and commercial spaces.

This predevelopment work led to a successful application for Congressionally Directed Spending and the recent receipt of $1.2M to be utilized in bringing this project to reality!
