Similar to 'hate' I believe that 'Bullying' will never stop... That is why it falls upon us to stand up, be advocates, listen and help those in need. This story is tragic on many levels but especially becauase no one was there to help. Sometimes listening to what our friends, and family members are saying is the 'ounce of prevention' that can be worth a 'pound of cure'

Guy and gals in the BJJ community and everyone else. I just found out about this tragedy tonight thru a Facebook group I belong to. This beautiful little girl passed away yesterday training Jiu Jitsu as her father coached her. She apparently collapsed on the mats during a warm up and couldn't be revived. I don't know these people but I can damn sure help by spreading the word. My heart goes out to them in this time of loss. I can't even imagine losing one of mine... They are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. If your inclined and able please donate or say a prayer.

On July the 16th Ella Armstrong went home to be with the Lord at the age of 8. This is a fund in memory of this precious little girl. Donations given will help the family with funeral expenses and other expenses they incur during this difficult time. Also your prayer support for this family is...

Build confidence in your child. Often it is the answer to bullying. As much as we would like to eradicate bullies history proves that this simply isn't possible. A good martial arts program can be an essential tool to building this confidence!

Bullying issues or problems run deeper than just the physical or psychological effects on victims. Bullies have issues of their own... Research by Fight Crime/Invest in Kids reports that 60% of boys who bullied from first grade through ninth grade were convicted of at least one crime by age 24 and 40% had three or more convictions by age 24.

Whether your child is a victim or a bully it is clear that bullying is a problem for us all.

According to bullying statistics, 1 out of every 10 students who drops out of school does so because of repeated bullying.

FACT

We as, parents, need to insure our children's ability to attend school and get an education in a Bully Free environment.

Know the facts. Help where you can. Empowering your child to stand up for his or her self is the greatest gift you can give!

This is precisely why we at Morgantown Anti Bully believe in empowering your children and teaching them to STAND THEIR GROUND. Bullies target the week and vulnerable. Sometimes shouting the word 'STOP' loud enough for all to hear is enough to stop a bully in his or her tracks.

Confident children are not bullied! Enter your child in a program today! A martial arts such as Jiu Jitsu or Judo can be a huge positive. Wrestling also teaches similar principles. The idea is to build your child's self esteem and confidence through hard work, challenges and direct opposition. Striking arts, like karate or boxing, can sometimes 'backfire' in the sense that children will often feel empowered to 'strike' in a stressful situation. Jiu jitsu, Judo and wrestling teach an alternative in that they all teach take downs, control and positioning. Don't teach your child to 'strike back'... Teach them to control the situation thru self confidence and, if need be, grappling for physical control of the situation.

My name is Neale Hoerle. I am a college graduate, successful business owner and professional martial artist... and I was once a childhood bullying victim. Years ago I came to terms with the pain and harassment I endured at the hands of bullies. I was able to overcome the mental challenges that bullying can create and I would like to recruit YOU to help with my cause.
