At the August 20th meeting of Morgantown Rotary, the club welcomed 2 guests - Stephanie Lindsey and former member John Christie. Brian Camp was welcomed by Pierce Murphy as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Morgantown.
The club was honored to welcome Jane Stout, the District Foundation Chair and her husband Craig Stout, the Paul Harris Society Chair for the District. Jane provided an excellent and informative program on Polio Plus. “End Polio Now” is a Rotary standard that Jane reinforced with her presentation Thank you Jane and Craig for your visit to our club.

Evan Hansen was named a Paul Harris Fellow at the Aug. 13 meeting of Morgantown Rotary. He receives his pin from Harry Grandon. The guest speaker was one of our own members, John Fahey. He had club participation by asking interview questions of each member in attendance ! Thank you John.

Our guest presenters were Annie Kronan-York who spoke about her experiences as the former chair and work with MEI reports and Caleb McClung current representative of the Morgantown Human Rights Commission. Their presentation was thought provoking and very informative. One of the take-aways from Caleb was that we need to “create a culture of understandingl”

The Rotary Club of Morgantown was treated to a presentation from “On Eagle’s Wings” Therapeutic Horsemanship at the July 23rd meeting.
The group did not formally meet on July 30th. They did gather at the Co-op to assist the Appalachian Book Project in getting books ready to mail to incarcerated adults.

This Thursday co.op.wv will be hosting the Rotary Club of Morgantown's Prison Book Club event! The Rotary Club is seeking book donations and will spend the evening of July 30th from 6:00-9:00 PM wrapping donated books to send to a local prison. They are seeking gently used books of all genres! Popular books include: Dictionaries, Almanacs, How-To Books, Mysteries, Religion, and Philosophy.

The Rotary Club of Morgantown is mourning the loss of Michael Ellington. Michael was a past club president and District Governor. In October 2025 he was inducted into the WVU Student Life Hall of Fame. Michael will be missed by all who knew him.
