It is important for people to understand what "paid family caregivers" really entails. CCDD has collected stories from families that we will share over the next few months. Please read and share so people are making decisions based on facts! Thank you Allison McElvain for sharing your family's journey.

Sensory & Adaptive Swims return to the Russell Sims Aquatic Center for the 2026 season!

At BGPR, we believe recreation should be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for EVERYONE. Our Sensory & Adaptive Swims provide a lower-stimulation environment before public hours for individuals and families with intellectual and/or physical disabilities to enjoy the waterpark in a more comfortable setting.

2026 Sensory & Adaptive Swim Datesβ€’ June 9, 16, 23, 30β€’ July 7, 14, 21, 28β€’ August 4

9:00am–10:45am

During these designated swim times, guests can enjoy a calmer atmosphere while also having opportunities to utilize adaptive watersports equipment through our partnership with Warren County Parks & Recreation.

We are proud to continue creating opportunities for ALL members of our community to experience joy, connection, and summer fun at RSAC.

🚫 Breaking Down Barriers & Stigma Starts With Us
Did you know?

πŸ‘‰ Ableism is discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities
πŸ‘‰ Stigma is a set of negative or unfair beliefs about a group of people

These attitudes, whether intentional or not, can create barriers that impact how individuals are treated, supported, and included in our communities.
πŸ’¬ Even everyday language or assumptions can contribute to stigma
πŸ’‘ Awareness is the first step toward change
🀝 Together, we can build more inclusive, respectful environments for all

Take a moment to learn more and reflect on how we can all be part of the solution:
