We invite you all to A Creative Journey Through West Virginia! This immersive five-day workshop looks at the people, places, and atmosphere of West Virginia through expressive painting and observational practice.

Working from Morgantown as our creative base, we’ll paint on location and in the studio, drawing inspiration from the university city and the wider landscapes, architecture, and culture of West Virginia. Using sketchbooks, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, colour, and texture, participants will develop a personal response to place while exploring contemporary painting techniques.

The workshop will conclude with a Saturday exhibition and reception showcasing participants’ work, alongside a small exhibition of Anna Martin’s paintings, creating a celebration of creativity and an opportunity to raise funds for MonArts.

Please reserve your spot at https://app.panotix.com/e/a-creative-journey-through-west-virginia/01KY5JMJHV8K7YA0NAMR9MSYAP.

Join us as we welcome Emily Braun to the stage for another amazing Literary Night! On Thursday, August 13, at 6pm, we will dive into her collection of poems and go through a transformational journey of exploring emotions and processing life’s experiences.

Having studied English, creative writing, social work, and public administration at West Virginia University, Emily is now a Clinical Therapist in Morgantown, West Virginia. She draws upon poetry therapy in practice, along with parts work, ecotherapy, solutions-focused brief therapy, existential therapy, and other expressive arts. Specializing in supporting clients through major life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, and identify shifts, she hopes to highlight just how opportune writing can be for life reflection and forward movement. She’s found in her personal journey that her best self, peace, and answers are already inside. It’s her mission to help others access theirs.

This will be a memorable evening for everyone involved and we are hope to see you all there!
