This is one of the stories from one of our funded partners from the 2025-2026 year:

"During the fall of 2025, an older woman was assigned guardianship of her adult grandson by the courts. She willingly accepted this responsibility; however, her fixed income was not initially flush enough to take on the additional household and travel expenses associated with their new family arrangement. Her grandson had an income source; however, the paperwork had not yet connected his payments to his new location. The pair was struggling to meet their medical, nutrition, and transportation needs. The grandmother requested and received a modest $30 gas voucher to help bridge them to the store, clinics and pharmacy. And it worked! This small amount of support in a tight financial time allowed her to take her grandson to his appointments with a counselor, the dentist, to obtain his medications, and to buy groceries. It made the difference between a smoother transition and one that could have significantly backtracked his medical stability. Christian Help is neighbors helping neighbors."
