Happy Giving Tuesday!

You can support Friends of Deckers Creek this with a donation to our organization.

For over 25 years, Friends of Deckers Creek has worked tirelessly to bring life back to the watershed. We've seen fish return and community members gather thanks to supporters like you. But our work isn't done.

All donations help us continue our mission of improving the natural qualities of, increasing the public concern for, and promoting the enjoyment of the Deckers Creek Watershed. Every dollar raised will go towards the remediation of Deckers Creek and the promotion of sustainability in our community.

Your support ensures a cleaner, healthier future for the Deckers Creek watershed. Be the hero our waterway needs.💧

We wanted to thank our fantastic volunteers and Starbucks for fueling our volunteers! Several members from the WVU Fly fishing Club offered their generous support, as well as many community members.

We were able to clean a large portion of Deckers Creek! With 20 volunteers, we gathered 42 bags of trash along with tires, shopping carts, and chairs.

Your efforts make a tangible difference in our watershed.

We couldn't do it without you!

Meet our scarecrow, The Hydrilla Monster!

After an interview with a trout, this is what he had to say,

"Hydrilla Monster lives in the hidden depths of our waterways, only to come out to feed on prey. This lifeless monster obscures any sunlight that could pierce the surface of water. if you were to look up, all you would see is a cloud of darkness, illuminating nothing but our doom. Soon this cloud will deplete our oxygen, take away our vital resources, and all that will be left is darkness."

Hydrilla monster now sits on a kayak at the Botanic Garden, laughing at the gruesome fate brought upon aquatic wildlife.

All is not lost! let's work together to prevent the spread of this aquatic invasive! Swipe to learn more about Hydrilla.

Visit the West Virginia Botanic Garden to see this creature for yourself, as well as many other scarecrows.

Remember to vote best scarecrow!
