🎃🩵 We have set a date! 🩵🎃

Planning is officially underway for our 4th Annual Teal Pumpkin Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 4 from 12:15–2:00 PM at the Spruce St Farmers Market Pavilion in Morgantown!

Hosted by Spruce St UMC, Spruce St Playgroup, and The Literacy Coalition, our Teal Pumpkin event is dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive Halloween experience for local families — especially children with food allergies who often can't enjoy much of the candy they receive during traditional trick-or-treating.

We're currently looking for:

🎃 Family-friendly businesses
🎃 Community organizations and nonprofits
🎃 Groups that support local children, moms, and families
🎃 Educational, health, and community resources

Participants are welcome to decorate their trunk or table space and hand out:

🍬 Candy and treats
📚 Information about your organization
📰 Flyers, brochures, and resources
🎁 Small giveaways or activities

Don't worry about providing allergy-friendly candy! Spruce St Playgroup will provide a teal bucket full of safe options for children with food allergies, so every child can participate and enjoy the fun.

Participants are free to set up as early as they'd like and may choose any available location under the Farmers Market Pavilion. Need a table and chairs? Let us know a couple of weeks in advance and we'll do our best to help!

WHO: anyone, but it's geared towards preschool age children

WHAT: explore the grounds, check out Maker Boxes for little learners from Homemade by Homeschoolers (10% off when purchased at the event), enjoy a read aloud of our July book, "Only One You" by Linda Kranz, paint river rocks, and be entered into a giveaway of the book of the month and a Maker Box

We love spooky season! And we're looking forward to our FOURTH annual Teal Pumpkin Event. Keep your eyes peeled, because we'll be confirming the date soon!

If you know of any groups who would like to partner with us, tag them! The Teal Pumpkin event is a really special celebration that makes Halloween safe for children who have food allergies and food intolerances!

We provide participating groups with teal buckets full of treats that are free of the top 8 most common food allergens. You can also pass out regular candy and informational materials, but the teal buckets ensure every child has a safe option if needed.

The church is holding a one night Vacation Bible School on July 15th, for adults and kids! This is a great option for busy families. Dinner will be served at 5pm and then activities will follow from 5:30-7:30p. You can attend with your child, attend separately in the adult program, or drop off your child and have a couple hours of time kid-free!

Join us for a special one-night Vacation Bible School hosted by Spruce Street United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church!
Our theme this year is "God Is Always With Us." Through Bible stories, games, crafts, science activities, and hands-on experiences, we'll explore how God is with us in every season of life. Together we'll journey through the stories of Abraham, Jacob, Elijah, and Esther, discovering how God guided, comforted, and strengthened them—and how God is with us today.

The special animal guest at the next "Innovators & Disciples" play date will be .......Doves! Come watch a dove release on Saturday at Granville Park! The Innovators & Disciples group is back this spring for a fun day of faith-based STEM activities on June 6th. We'll be at Granville Park for activities between 10:30-11:30am, and we'll stay to play on the playground after.

Theme: Noah's Big Ocean Journey
Activities:
Make ocean graham cracker snacks
Learn wet-on-wet watercolor painting with seasalt
Make an ocean scene in a water bottle
Create meals for the ark animals at the feeding station bins
Explore and play in ocean habitat bins
Play a fishing game

Every child receives a free illustrated children's Bible.
