New Name ➡️ Same Mission

We are now officially the Mountaineer Safety & Wellness Advocates, a new organization succeeding the Mountaineer Fentanyl Education Task Force.

MSWA is focused on educating WVU students, Morgantown residents, and the greater West Virginia community about emerging public health crises and providing resources related to safety and wellness. While we continue the work of the Task Force (education on the dangers of fentanyl), we’ve broadened our mission to account for future challenges that may affect the Mountaineer community.

We are excited to continue our work in keeping our Mountaineer community safe. Follow along to stay informed!

🚨 Stay Safe, Stay Vigilant 🚨 While there isn’t an active overdose spike in our area, there’s a significant concern based on predictive data from nearby counties. We can’t be too careful. These five steps can help keep you and your community safe:

1. Spread the Word: Share this critical information.
2. Carry Naloxone: Be ready with life-saving medication.
3. Use fentanyl test strips: Stay one step ahead of danger.
4. Never Use Alone: Always have someone with you.
5. Stay Informed: Proactive action today can prevent tragedy tomorrow.

Please share and help raise awareness — it could save a life.
