The Casting for Hope team is excited to host its 8th annual “Hope in the Hills” benefit event at Hidden Hill Venue on Friday, September 25th. Guests will be treated to a night of delicious food, wine, music from local artists, and the opportunity to support a cause that serves women and families across the state.
Casting for Hope is celebrating its 15th year of service to North Carolinians faced with a gynecological cancer diagnosis. This year, Hope in the Hills will be even more special, knowing that CFH has reached such an important milestone. Many of the organization’s earliest supporters are based in Morganton and surrounding areas, so this event is a perfect occasion to celebrate 15 years of Casting for Hope.
“Hope in the Hills is always an incredibly important night, as it falls in September during ovarian and gynecological cancers awareness month," said Co-Founder and Board Chair, Taylor Sharp. “Raising money at this event helps cover the costs of our Survivor and Caregiver Retreats, where patients from across the state come to Bakersville, NC for an all-expenses-paid weekend of respite, nourishing food, community with other survivors, and a chance to fly fish in trophy trout waters.”
Funds raised at this event also benefit Casting for Hope’s financial assistance programming. “It is a crucial time to support our organization, as the patients we serve are experiencing more financial hardship than ever before,” said CFH Director of Patient Services and Retreat Programming, Shannon Byrne. “As of May 15, we had received more new applications than we did throughout all of 2025.” The organization invites the community to give generously to continue delivering essential services to patients who are in need of their financial assistance.
Hope in the Hills guests should expect a night to remember with three sets of live music with one of the best mountain views as the backdrop. This year, the featured artists are Lilly & Tinley, Zack Kardon (Southern Pine) and The Alligators. Attendees will also have the chance to hear from local women and families who have benefitted from Casting for Hope’s work.
All in attendance will be provided with a delicious meal and an array of complimentary beer and wine offerings. The event will also feature both a silent and live auction filled with artisan goods and exclusive experiences that guests will have the opportunity to bid on, such as guided fly-fishing experiences or the opportunity to fly in a WWII biplane over the Linville Gorge and Lake James.
