Despite all of our best efforts, we live in an imperfect world. In the comfort of our homes and families it can be easy to unintentionally discard the suffering of others, especially when struggling under the weight of our own pressures and expectations. InTents is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing temporary comfort and shelter to those less fortunate. Born in a small stretch
of western North Carolina called Burke County, InTents works to recycle used outdoor equipment by providing it to those without a viable alternative for residence. We are currently in the process of establishing a home base in Burke County in a little town called Morganton, and we can't wait to be able to hit the ground running as soon as possible! Right now, our aim is to acquire any and all forms of outdoor recreational equipment: tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, mattress pads, cooking supplies, and many other things! As soon as we are able, we will proceed with the next step in the process: distribution. InTents has already begun collaborating with local organizations and businesses in an effort to appropriately identify afflicted areas that could benefit the most from our intervention.
