Have you downloaded the B Well Burke app? A group of BCPS students who make up the Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists partnered with Blue Ridge Community Action in May 2021 to create the mental health app. The need for the app arose from persisting problems facing youth’s mental and emotional wellbeing. The B Well Burke app functions as a resource center as it lists information relating to mental health (su***de prevention, stress management, etc) and provides links to hotlines, communication services, and emergency services, along with specific local options relating to protecting mental health. The goal of B Well Burke is to educate those seeking help in a trusted, safe way. Through sharing the B Well Burke app with students, Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists would like to realize their initial goals of providing a set of resources and support for students’ mental and emotional well-being, which is where the mission of B Well Burke originated.
