Outride Outride is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth through cycling.

WE BELIEVE:

That bicycles have the ability to improve the wellbeing of youth. Bicycles also bring opportunity, agency, freedom, and joy to those who have access to the power of two wheels. Outride is committed to breaking down barriers so that all kids have access to bikes and safe places to ride.

Movement makes a difference. Whether it’s a ride around the block, hitting the trail with friends, or simply spending time outside, cycling can support both physical and mental well-being. 🧠🫶

🚨 Riding for Focus Applications Are Now Open! 🚨 

Did you know you can bring bikes to your school to support student well-being and success in the classroom? 

Riding for Focus is a school cycling program designed to help students improve focus, confidence, and overall well-being through riding. Schools selected for the program receive a fleet of Specialized Bicycle Components bikes, helmets, and a curriculum, designed to integrate cycling into the school day! 🚲📚

Research shows that riding more frequently is associated with higher well-being, while schools implementing Riding for Focus have reported improvements in student engagement, behavior, and academic outcomes. 🧠🔍

Join a growing movement of nearly 500 schools across the U.S. and Canada investing in student wellness and brain health through cycling! 🌎

Ride the Nation is in Full Swing 🇺🇸🚴
Jack Thompson is riding through 48 states, 10,000+ miles, in just two months 🤯

Powered by NewForm, Ride the Nation is shining a light on the power of community, connection, and well-being as Jack cycles through America. 

In the first two weeks of the journey, Jack biked from Massachusetts to Florida, where Outride and Specialized Bicycle Components has come together to host community rides and Riding for Focus school visits, bringing people together and inspiring riders of all ages along the route.

🏙️ Specialized Upper West Side Community Ride

Led by Eric Graham and the team at SPECIALIZED NYC - Upper West Side, Jack joined local riders for an unforgettable ride through New York City’s most iconic landmarks including Central Park and Times Square. 

After the ride, the group gathered back at the shop for pizza and heard from local Outride partner I Challenge Myself, whose team is helping bring cycling and wellness opportunities to youth across the city

🦅 She Is Focused Community Ride

Hosted by Ajoa Abrokwa, this ride brought together members of Outride partner She Is Focused, a Philly-based community creating welcoming spaces for women through cycling, wellness, and connection 

Joined by members of Bicycle Coalition of Gtr Phila (another rad Outride partner!), the group rode through West Fairmount Park before cooling off with popsicles, hearing Jack’s story, and tips for cheering on the Eagles. Go Birds! 🦅💚

🍎 Riding for Focus School Visit

The energy at MLK PE Department was off the charts! Students eagerly welcomed Jack with thoughtful questions about his journey before R4F educator, John Glodek led Jack and the students on a group ride through their local trail.

The excitement didn’t end there. Students are still tracking Jack’s progress in the classroom and cheering him on every mile of the way.

This month, we’ve explored how cycling supports brain health, welcoming nearly 500 schools in the Riding for Focus community as students head back to class, celebrating our inaugural cohort from the Research Partnership Grant and 42 organizations awarded 2026 Community Impact Grants to expand access to cycling.
