“My brothers lived and died with hemophilia, and I feel their loss every day. This year I'm captaining Kurties Birdies and walking in the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk on Saturday, November 7 at Heather Farm Park in Walnut Creek. Registration starts at 8:00 AM.

This cause is near and dear to my heart. One brother died as an infant. Camp Hemotion, a NorCalBDF program, was a very big part of my brother Kurt's life. He later died from complications from hemophilia and HIV. I'm grateful that kids today don't face that threat, thanks to a safe supply of clotting factor medicine. That safety didn't happen by accident. The bleeding disorders community fought for it, and NorCalBDF carries that advocacy forward, working for safe, affordable treatment and access to care.

Starting today: the highest gift to the 2026 Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk wins 4 tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!

The challenge runs one week, through Wednesday, October 14 at 4 PM. The largest single gift wins, including gifts to team and participant pages. If there's a tie, the earliest gift wins. Tickets will be mailed to the winner.

Walk funds help send kids to Camp Hemotion, where they learn to infuse on their own. $1,650 sends one kid to camp.

Camp Hemotion 2027 is 35% paid for, thanks to everyone who has given to NorCalBDF's Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk so far.

$1,650 sends one camper for a week. Camp Hemotion for 60 campers costs $99,000. Walk donations have covered 21. Help us fund the next 39.

At Camp Hemotion, kids learn to infuse on their own, surrounded by friends who get it.
