Story time at our Catalyst ExpandEd Learning Henry Ford site in Redwood City became extra special when the school principal stopped by for a classroom visit! We loved welcoming him into our space and sharing a moment of learning and connection together.

Celebrating Those Who Care for Our Communities 💙

Our Catalyst Community division recently welcomed more than 20 local child care providers to its Provider Appreciation Night in Cameron Park, bringing together professionals from across El Dorado County’s Western Slope for an evening of connection, resources, learning, and appreciation.

The event kicked off a new Provider Nights series designed to strengthen programs through professional learning, curriculum development, quality improvement, and meaningful connections among local providers.

Because when we invest in the people who care for and support children, we help strengthen the communities we all share.

Last week in Morgan Hill, our President, Susan Dumars, COO Eva Schulte, and Catalyst Family Board Members met, but they didn’t expect a heartfelt surprise waiting for them.

Local Catalyst Kids students had created handmade decorations and assembled goodie bags to welcome the group. Their creativity, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm brought smiles to everyone in the room and served as a meaningful reminder of why our work matters. 💜

Moments like these connect our leadership directly to the children and families at the heart of our mission. While important discussions and decisions take place around the boardroom table, it is the joy, growth, and potential of the children we serve that inspire and guide those conversations every day.

🎈 Science That Pops with Possibility! 🧪✨

At our Catalyst ExpandEd Learning program at Rex Fortune Elementary, our TK students became young scientists as they explored the exciting concept of cause and effect!

Using baking soda, vinegar, and a balloon, students observed a bubbling chemical reaction and discovered how the gas created could inflate a balloon. Along the way, they asked questions, made predictions, and learned how science can be found in everyday experiences.

Hands-on learning like this sparks curiosity, expands the school day, and helps children see the world through a lens of discovery. 🔬💡
