Voter's Choice 4 Monterey Road wants to implement the General Plan of the City. The General Plan specifically allows for Monterey Road to be a four lane thoroughfare with an option to reduce it to two. In 2015, the then city council exercised the option for about 4 months only to reopen the lanes due to the traffic congestion unacceptable to the public. Then 6 years later, the current council decided to exercise the option to reduce the lane. The initiative will transfer control to the voters as whether or not to exercise the option to reduce the downtown lanes to two. The negative consequences resulting from lane reduction effect the entire city in many different ways. The voters will be able to make the choice they believe is in the best interest of the city and the public good!.
