Kiwanis Club of East St. Mary Kiwanis Club of East St. Mary is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicating to improving our community. Our club takes this statement very seriously.

Meetings: Weekly on Friday's, at Noon
Location: Petroleum Club of Morgan City, 500 Roderick St, Morgan City, LA 70380

Our mission statement is: "Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time". We are a large club of over 80 members, and we are very active in our community. We sponsor four high school Key Clubs at Morgan Ci

ty High, Berwick High, Central Catholic High, and Patterson High. We award annual scholarships to those Key Club students who apply through an application process. We also sponsor 9 Terrific Kids and 9 Bringing Up Grads programs at all of our local elementary schools. Our signature project is a Kid's Fishing Rodeo held in Morgan City at Lake End Park annually in May. All children are welcome to participate with a parent or adult. We award many door prizes as well as trophies in different categories of their catch. Usually, 300 or more kids participate. Our annual fundraisers include an annual Trivia Night in March, LA Shrimp & Petroleum Festival Hurricane Drink Booth on Labor Day Weekend, and our annual Wild Game Supper in September.

Toree Leonard, second from the right, was our guest speaker at our meeting last Friday. She spoke to us about the "It Takes A Village" program in the tri-city area and their upcoming event Glowing Throuhh It on June 13th from 5 to 9PM at the BV civic center. Brody Champagne, local Eagle Scout candidate, joined us Friday and explained his ongoing Eagle Scout project. He is creating a new "Welcome to Morgan City" sign at the down ramp of the MC bridge at Business Hwy. 182. We donated a new club sign for his project. We also made a donation to local Troop 49 for all the help the scouts provide us during the year! Congratulations, Brody!

Today, the Kiwanis Club of East St. Mary celebrated 40 years of service to our community at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. Forty years of investing in kids, families, and the future of Berwick, Morgan City, and all of St. Mary Parish. That is a legacy worth celebrating.

We were honored to have Mayor Lee Dragna of Morgan City and Mayor Duval Arthur of Berwick join us, along with Elisabeth Chaisson, President of the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce, who all spoke beautifully about the impact our club has had on this community. We also took time to recognize members with well-deserved thank yous and awards for their service.
