YES YES YES, it's Kid Fish time of year. In Texas the 1st Saturday of June is free fishing. You do not have to have a license!

We'd like kids 0-12 to come on down to the marina with Mom and Dad and FISH!

We will have prizes for the biggest and smallest fish, as well as prizes for the most fish by 1 person in ages:

0-3
4-8
9-12.

Please bring your own pole if you have one as we cannot guarantee one from the game wardens! We will provide your bait.

We will have hot dogs and water for snacks. The hot dogs will be prepared by the MPR Dive Team. 1st come, 1st serve!

We ask you don't bring your animals from home, as it generally is so crowded and of so many ages we just don't want anyone or anything to get upset and cry or bite.

The activities will be set up on the lower parking lot. ALL PARKING is upstairs at the top deck. Please, we will have big trucks and deliveries being made to the lower level so help us by not blocking them.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you.

We apologize for being late to recognize our police officers.
Our C.O.P.S. members have been dealing with cancer, back surgery, hip replacements just to name a few, and we just couldn't keep up. We apologize.

We, however, did not forget to put our baking shoes on. This cake is a small token of our sincere appreciation for all you do.

Hope last week was great and we pray for your safety daily. Get out there and eat that cake. It is white on white.....so Yummy!

From MPR COPS

"As National Police Week 2026 begins, it’s important to remember that behind every badge is a human being.

There are officers who leave home every day knowing they may walk into situations most people would run from. They miss birthdays, holidays, ballgames, dinners, & sleep. Some carry the weight of things they’ve seen for the rest of their lives. Some never make it home at all.

This week is about honoring those who serve with integrity and remembering the officers who gave their lives protecting others. It’s also a reminder that communities are stronger when respect, accountability, & appreciation exist together.

Law enforcement officers are often called during people’s worst moments. They see humanity at its most broken, yet many continue showing up because they genuinely want to help people.

No profession is perfect because people are not perfect. Still, there are many good officers serving communities across this country who deserve recognition for the sacrifices they make daily.

If you know an officer, retired officer, dispatcher, correctional officer, or law enforcement family member, take a moment this week to encourage them. A simple thank you can go a long way.

Let’s remember those we’ve lost and support those still serving."

Make it a habit.

Every night at 9PM, take a few minutes to protect your property and your neighborhood:
• Lock your vehicle
• Take your keys
• Remove valuables
• Close your garage

Most vehicle burglaries happen because doors are left unlocked. Don’t make it easy.

Lock it tonight. Thank yourself tomorrow.

MPR COPS did something a lil different this year. We gave out homemade goodies, chocolate chip cookies, marshmallow bunnies and chocolate pretzel rods made into carrots. Hundreds of these were gone just as quickly as if we were out in the park. We hope you kids enjoy Easter and maybe next year someone will remember to take pictures.

BELL COUNTY, WE NEED YOU! Now is the time to voice our opposition and stop the 765KV transmission lines through our communities, as they have been officially submitted to the Public Utilities Commission. Let's ensure that our safety, livelihoods, and land are protected as the PUC makes their final decisions this fall. If you have specific questions about your property or situation, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Please welcome the newest member of our own MPRPD, Officer Hopps. He is officially on duty to fight crime by cuddling suspects until they confess. He’s tough, he’s fast, and he absolutely will not stop chewing on our paperwork. Welcome Ofc. Hopps!

Chuck Norris was a loyal friend to public safety and law enforcement throughout his life and career. In 2010, he was named an honorary Texas Ranger for bringing renewed attention to the legendary Texas Rangers Division on television. Mr. Norris will be remembered as a cherished partner of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). His legacy will not be forgotten.
