Bless us, Heavenly Father, forgive our erring ways, grant us strength to serve thee, put purpose in our days. Give us understanding enough to make us kind so we may judge all people with our heart and not our mind. And teach us to be patient in everything we do, content to trust your wisdom and to follow after you. And help us when we falter and hear us when we pray and receive us in thy kingdom to dwell with thee someday.

to lead her on her way;
I told her of the love of God
and taught her how to pray.

And as I searched for better ways
Her guide and help to be,
I found, as we walked hand in hand,
that she was leading me.

Thank God for little things

Thank you, God, for little things that often come our way. The things we take for granted, but don’t mention when we pray. The unexpected courtesy, the thoughtful, kindly deed. A hand reached out to help us in the time of sudden need. Oh, make us more aware, dear God, of little daily graces that come to us with “sweet surprise” from never dreamed of places.

The more you give, the more you get.
The more you laugh, the less you fret.
The more you do unselfishly, the more you live abundantly.

The more of everything you share, the more you’ll always have to spare. The more you love, the more you’ll find that life is good and friends are kind.

🎵 "Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim
till all the world adore his sacred name."

"Lift high the cross" (number 159 in The United Methodist Hymnal) is one of the great processional hymns. During this season, it is often sung at annual conference services--uplifting the gatherings with the song's triumphal tune.

Lyrically, it inspires the church to meet the world with reassurances that God's grace and love are already present. Our job is to follow that love into the world.
