Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls SR. is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls SR. takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong - all in 60 minutes!

In the 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist play, What the Constitution Means to Me, Heidi Schreck takes a fresh, funny, and deeply personal look at the U.S. Constitution and the ways it has shaped—and sometimes challenged—our lives. Inspired by her teenage years as a debate champion, she revisits her youthful optimism and examines how her understanding of this document has evolved over time. Blending humor, history, and heartfelt storytelling, the play offers a lively and thought-provoking exploration of rights, citizenship, and the ever-changing American dream. Smart, surprising, and full of humanity, What the Constitution Means to Me makes history feel personal in the most entertaining way.

CONTENT WARNING:
Heidi Schreck’s What the Constitution Means to Me, blends memoir and debate to examine systemic and personal trauma, including domestic violence, sexual assault, partner abuse, and reproductive rights, through the lens of U.S. constitutional law. Weaving personal stories with legal history, the play is emotionally resonant and politically powerful. There are some infrequent instances of profanity and mature political expressions.

This production is made possible through a partnership with Gateway Regional Arts Center. Presented through funding from the National Endowment for the Arts in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration.

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Audition opportunity in Flemingsburg

🏹 This Tuesday & Wednesday-come audition!

Flemingsburg Community Theatre is venturing into Sherwood Forest, and we call upon ye to join our Merry Band!

Get ready for The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood! Written by Mary Lynn Dobson, produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.

This isn't your average classic legend—it's a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling full of absolute ridiculousness, and we need YOU to bring it to life!

We are casting for some incredibly fun roles, including:

A swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero (who tries to be humble)

A lovely damsel-in-distress who is oddly obsessed with skin conditions

An ever-scheming Sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull's-eye

A gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe

A good-natured "Town's Guy" who manages to wander into every single scene

An expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal about six!

Stagehands, costumers, assistants, set/props support, and many more roles available!

Ready for an irreverent jaunt through the forest? Here are the audition details:

🗓️ Dates: May 26 & May 27 (Choose 1 date-no need to attend both unless you want to)

⏰ Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

📍 Where: Simons Middle School

(This show is suitable for actors ages 9-adult. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for all rehearsals and productions.)

Whether you're a seasoned stage veteran or just looking to have a hilarious time and try something new, we want to see you there!
