Southeastern Estuarine Research Society (SEERS) SEERS membership is largely, but not exclusively, from the states of NC, SC, GA and FL.

A non-profit educational organization dedicated to the informal exchange of interdisciplinary information related to estuaries of the southeastern US (NC, SC, GA, FL, PR, USVI). The Southeastern Estuarine Resarch Society (SEERS) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the informal exchange of interdisciplinary information related to estuaries of the southeastern United States. SEERS

promotes discussion of estuarine research, science, and management; promotes discussion of current research projects and management issues; and encourages participation of student colleagues. SEERS typically meets twice per year, including the biannual Estuarine Research Federation Conference. SEERS is an affiliate society of the Coastal & Estuarine Research Federation.

Dr. Brian LaPointe shared stories of getting started at Harbor Branch, meeting Dr Dennis Hanisak, and their many collaborations as well as the future of aquaculture at HBOI

Dr Cassondra Armstrong shared stories of Dr Enrique Reyes’s career as he started in Mexico, completed work in SW Florida and Louisiana before retiring in 2022 from East Carolina University.

2) Student members! We are still looking for student representative nominees for the next Board Cycle. This is a two year position for 2025 -2027. Self nominations are accepted. 🙂 Email [email protected] with nominations.

Early registration and abstract submission has been extended until Friday, February 14, due to the IT gnomes playing havoc with our webpage. Our webpage is back up and meeting registrants can access the membership portal through the Next Meeting page.

Make sure to take advantage of SEERS meeting rates at the Staybridge Inn Vero Beach. Today is the last day meeting rates will active, so make your hotel reservations. Link to the hotel can also be found on our Next Meeting page.
