👏 We couldn’t be more proud to celebrate Laura Blanchard and her new role as the inaugural Advanced Practice Provider Consulting Director for the UNC Department of Medicine!
Laura holds a special place in the CPM family. She was one of Chris’s longtime care providers throughout his battle with AML, and her compassion extended far beyond his medical care.
We know firsthand the difference Laura makes in the lives of her patients and their families, and we can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.

Laura Blanchard, MPAP, PA-C, has been announced as the inaugural Department of Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Consulting Director!
Laura brings 13 years of clinical and leadership experience at UNC Health to the role.
As the Division of Hematology’s first inpatient APP, Laura played a key role in developing the divisions APP program into a 24/7, APP-led model with 10 APPs.
She currently leads 17 APPs across diverse clinical settings and brings expertise in recruitment and onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, mentorship, change management, and operational strategy.
The new position will serve as an advocate for APPs and a liaison between APPs and department leadership.
The department looks forward to welcoming Laura into this new role and to the impact her expertise will have in advancing the work of APPs.
