Moravia Community Garden

Thank you to everyone who showed up to wrap up the Moravia Community Garden for our first season at Moravia Hope Food Pantry! Many hands made quick work, and in less than 90 minutes we had two compost bins filled and the old plants pulled out. There is both Swiss chard and kale still thriving, feel free to harvest 1/3 of each plant at a time. See you in the spring!

Please join us this Sunday 11/2 at 10:30 am to help us build our compost bin and button up the garden for winter. More hands make light work, and we expect to be finished by NOON!🍂🍂🍁🍁☀️☀️

Reminder that the Moravia area community has a lovely seed library fully stocked at Powers Library! It may be the end of summer but there’s always time for dreaming about our next planting season 💭🌱🍁

Happy Saturday garden friends! While there is not a pantry pickup until next Saturday, there are plenty of veggies to harvest out back. Many hot peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, kale, chard, beets, other greens, cucumbers, onions and pole beans are ready to go home with you- some were already picked and are under the covered porch.

Happy Saturday garden friends!

We have a variety of tomatoes, greens, beets, hot peppers and onions ready to harvest as well as squash and cucumbers getting ready for next Saturday/pantry pickup.

Please remember this garden feeds about 40 families so take what you cannot otherwise buy for your meals and leave some for other families! This is the spirit of community gardening 🌻🌱🌻

Happy Saturday garden friends! Today was the first time we've sent out ALL the veggies in one day. We are now out of squash, tomatoes and greens other than kale and collard greens. We had several community members wander out to the garden to harvest and to chat this morning. Hopefully with the cooler weather our plants will start producing again and we will have another good harvest over the next week or two. Exciting things are happening!
