Hello Moorpark Marching Band Families,

Marching Band Camp starts next week, and we are excited to kick off another season together!

Band Camp Dates

August 3rd through August 7th
August 10th through August 14th
Daily from 8:00a to 5:00p
Students will have a lunch break from 12:00p to 1:00p each day.

To help everyone stay comfortable and prepared, students are encouraged to:

Wear athletic clothing and comfortable shoes
Apply sunscreen before arriving
Wear a sunhat if desired
Bring a large water bottle
Bring their instrument each day
Bring a 3-ring binder with sheet protectors to keep music organized
Drop-off and pick-up will take place in the PAC parking lot in front of the band room.

We are looking forward to an exciting two weeks of music, learning, and building our team.

To celebrate the end of Band Camp, we invite all families to join us for our Band Camp Parent Showcase on Friday, August 14th at 6:30p in the MHS Stadium. Parents will get a first look at portions of this year's marching show, along with several of the season's pep tunes. It's always an exciting evening and a great opportunity to see everything the students have accomplished in just two weeks. We hope you'll join us!

Attention families of music students that will be attending Moorpark High School next fall:
Is your student interested or enrolled in Marching Band/Color Guard? Have them come to our Pre Band Camp! It's a great way to learn more about it. If you have questions please contact the Director or coaches! Their emails are listed on this flyer!!

Is your incoming 9th grader interested in Marching Band? Returning Students and incoming freshman won't want to miss this!

Pre-Band Camp - Monday - Wednesday, June 15th - 17th @ 9:00a - 12:00p (Band Room):
For students participating in Marching Band next year, Pre-Band Camp is an extremely important event. We will meet in the Band Room from 9:00a - 12:00p on June 15th, 16th, and 17th. During these sessions, students will receive much of their fall music, important season information, participate in icebreaker activities with new members, and begin reviewing marching fundamentals and commands. We strongly encourage students to attend all three days if possible!!

Moorpark Day of Jazz - Saturday, May 30th @ 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (MHS PAC):
Our annual Moorpark Day of Jazz is coming up this Saturday in the PAC. The event will feature performances from the Jazz Departments of Mesa Verde, Chaparral, and Moorpark High School, along with a special guest performance. It should be a fantastic afternoon of music and collaboration, and we hope many of you will come out and support our students.

Music Families Please join us in honoring our students at Music Awards Night, Thursday May 28th 6pm in the MHS Quad. This event is outdoors. Please bring a jacket ( and a camping chair if you prefer not to sit at the picnic tables)
