Ohhh babies, I am so excited!!!

The Swamp Witch has officially submitted her manuscript for publishing. 🖤🐸🌿

A swamp witch’s memoir, if you will. Mud, magic, bad decisions, old stories, ancestors, survival, laughter, tears, and probably a little side-eye at humanity along the way. 😂

I know, I know… it’s been a long damn time coming. But after years of people telling me, “You really need to write a book,” it is finally happening.

And the best part? I’m already working on more. 😉

Thank ya’ll so much for the patience, the support, the love, the chaos, and for sticking around all these years while this old swamp witch wandered through the muck figuring out how to put a lifetime into pages.

I truly cannot wait to share this with ya’ll. And trust me — when it’s ready, ya’ll will be the first to know. 🖤

Ohhh ya'll, it finally arrived!

Finally received our signed and numbered bottle of Three Hearts Rum — and honestly, as a Gen Xer, this one feels extra special.

This Dominican rum is aged 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished another 2 years in cognac casks, with notes of vanilla, caramel, orange peel, and spice. The craftsmanship and presentation are absolutely beautiful… and yes, the bottle is staying unopened for now because apparently we’ve become ‘collector people.’ Life comes at you fast.

Watching Johnny Depp through every era — from 21 Jump Street to Captain Jack Sparrow — and now having this signed collector release on our shelf is just plain fun.

Some people buy sensible investments.
We bought autographed pirate rum. Zero regrets.

Alright now… let’s talk about this wild, humid, soul-soaked place we call home.

Happy birthday, Louisiana.

This ain’t just a state. This is a living, breathing spirit. You feel it the second you cross that line—air gets thicker, slower… like it’s got stories to tell and it ain’t in a hurry about it.

We are the deep south.
We are the dirty south.
We are the third coast.

And babies, we wear all of it like a badge of honor.

Most, will see visions of NOLA when they think about Louisiana livin' - but babies, that ain't the Louisiana I'm talking about!

The REAL Louisiana don’t pretend to be polished. She’s muddy boots, sweat on your back, and music drifting through the trees at night. She’s porch lights and cicadas, thunder rolling in like it’s got something to prove. She’s cypress knees rising outta black water like old bones, and moss hanging low like the ancestors are leaning in to listen.

Food here ain’t just food—it’s ritual. Gumbo simmering all damn day. Crawfish boils that turn into full-blown gatherings whether you planned it or not. Somebody’s always stirring something, seasoning something, feeding somebody. That’s how we love.

And the people? Whew.
We’re a whole mix of stories—Cajun, Creole, Indigenous, African, French, Spanish… layered like the land itself. A little stubborn, a little loud, real as hell, and loyal when it counts.

Louisiana teaches you things.
How to survive storms—both the sky kind and the life kind.
How to laugh when things go sideways, because they will.
How to sit still long enough to hear what the land is saying, because it's got all the secrets you need to know.

This place is magic. Not the clean, shiny kind—nah. The old kind. The kind that sticks to your skin. The kind that hums in the water and whispers through the trees.

You don’t just live in Louisiana.
You belong to her.

Happy birthday to the swamp, the cities, the backroads, the bayous, and every wild, beautiful, stubborn soul that calls this place home. 🖤
