FB, IG, TT, YT Mama Sha': Bayou Queen & Cajun Swamp Witch extraordinaire, brings her own brand of genuine bayou style Swamp Magic, with pieces of Rootwork and Southern Conjure at its heart. She also incorporates her own deep ancestral roots of Norse Spækona, Seidr and Læknir magicks, as well as those folk magic practices from Scotland, the British Isles, and other Northern European traditions. Mama Sha' has a very unique and close working relationship with Death and all manners of deities associated with the aspect. Necromancy and working with land spirits is a cornerstone of her practice. She also specializes in healing arts and fertility - but also has a knack for chaos and change . Mama Sha' has been been on her unique path for over 40 years. Her love of spellcrafting and magic started before she could even walk. Surrounded by magic as a child, true to her roots is how she was raised. When asked to describe herself, Mama Sha’ will often say:

Country Girl * Swamp Witch * Army Veteran * Bayou Queen * Bowhunter * Pirate * Mountain Girl * Diva of Death * Sea Witch

Mr. Kelly brings the spiritual expertise, divination and work in the spirit realm that can only come from a Warrior Shaman path. His journey began around the age of six. Filled with twists and turns, the journey was not always a smooth one. Now, after nearly five decades of traveling his path, he devotes over 12 hours a day, to assisting others. As a tribal Gothi and warrior shaman, of both social and local communities, he offers spiritual guidance, meditative teachings and instruction on how to connect with one's ancestors, as well as manifest one's desires. He truly enjoys helping individuals on their particular paths. Kelly often offers TOUGH love. You may not always like what he is telling you - but if you truly listen to what he is saying, what Spirit is saying thru him, you will see how much he is truly trying to help. Sometimes, we all need that old sea captain to help us navigate the choppy seas. Kelly also mentors students as a part of Swamp University as well as creating content and teaching videos for our Patrons.

🎃🖤 A LITTLE TRICK, A LITTLE HEX, AND SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES! 💀🐝

Well, look what crawled outta Mama Sha's candle-making corner of the swamp, cher! We've got TWO new Halloween candle pairs, and these little devils are ready to cause some mischief!

🧡🖤 TRICK & HEX — pair
Hand-rolled by yours truly using beautiful, naturally sweet-smelling beeswax! One orange, one black, and both dressed up for Halloween. Perfect for spooky decorating, autumn evenings, or just because you love a good handmade candle!

💀🕯️ SOMETHING WICKED — pair
Now THESE have a story to tell!

Hand-rolled black beeswax with creepy orange wax drippings, filled with Marshmallow Leaf, Wormwood, and Blue Vervain — herbs traditionally associated with spirit communication.

And the finishing touch? Actual dirt from the Louisiana roadside where Bonnie & Clyde met their bloody end in 1934!

Made for your Halloween altar, séances, ancestor work, or even a symbolic attempt to reach out to the infamous outlaw couple themselves!

Because some candles come with a past... and some pasts refuse to stay buried. 👻

Both are handmade in Louisiana by Mama Sha' at Inexplicable Things Apothecary and available in limited quantities! Currently, we have them listed in our Etsy shop, and Witchsey!

Been to our Etsy shop?

Something Wicked contains herbs and soil and is intended for unlit ritual or decorative use unless its burn safety has been verified.

Grab yours before these little troublemakers disappear into the swamp!

All my 🐝! They took over once the majority of the hummers have moved on! We have two or three feeders like this....keeping them full at close to a gallon a day! ❤️

We will do this all winter for the solitairy and drones that do not have a home or hive - although once the weather cools off, it will be a syrup rather than sugar water.

We love the pollinators around here!

Hello, October.

The air gets cooler, the shadows get longer, and the veil starts feeling just a little thinner around the edges.

This is the season of old bones and old stories, ancestor fires, simmering pots, crooked little candles, and remembering that not everything in the dark is something to fear.

Some of it is family.
Some of it is magic.
And some of it has probably been waiting all damn year for October too. 🖤🍂

Welcome to the dark half, y'all.

❤️ We’re Closing the Swamp Tribe Patreon

Well, y’all… it’s officially time. After many years of gathering, learning, laughing, practicing and occasionally raising a little hell together, we are closing down our Swamp Tribe Patreon.

But Inexplicable Things isn’t going anywhere.

We’re moving.

Over the years, what we wanted to create outgrew what Patreon could comfortably hold. We wanted more room to teach, more conversation, better organization, a real community space—and somewhere we could continue building without trying to cram everything into a platform that simply wasn’t designed for what the Tribe had become.

So we built a new home.

🌿 Thru the Cypress Gate

Our new community is already alive and kicking, with daily runes, weekly readings, the Witch’s Workbench, Cypress Grimoire, At the Cauldron, Hedge & Hollow, Full Moon work, discussions, classes, recipes and plenty more still coming.

And there’s even a free membership, so you don’t have to subscribe just to come sit around the fire with us.

Tomorrow, September 30, we officially close the Patreon chapter. (This is NOT the Vessel Patreon I have for my clients that I am working vessels for - this is our original Swamp Tribe Patreon!)

Now all this being said, I still have a few members in the Patreon Swamp Tribe that I will be removing tomorrow. If you find yourself not able to get to that Patreon, you will know why! If you paid an annual membership - let me know and we will work out the details so you get that membership in Thru the Cypress Gate!

To every single person who supported the Swamp Tribe over the years—whether you were there from damn near the beginning or only stayed awhile—thank you. You helped us grow into what we are today, and we will always be grateful for that.

This isn’t goodbye.

We’re just moving a little farther into the swamp. 😂🌿

Come walk the path with us.

🌿 Thru the Cypress Gate
🔥 The fire’s already burning.
