Legion Posts were numbered as they were organized. Peter A. Hanson was killed in action on Nov. 7, 1918, in France. The Moorhead post was named Peter A. Hanson Post #365 and was organized and received its charter on Dec. 1, 1920. Some of the things the local legion has done include: sending boys to Boys State; awarding citizenship awards to 8th-grade graduates; holding patriotic services at school; holding Memorial Day services at Spring Valley Cemetery; and having military rites for our departed comrades.
