It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dave Byers, the founder of the Iredell County Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. His compassion, vision, and dedication touched countless lives by making sure children had a safe, comfortable place to sleep. Please keep his family and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts as we honor the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace provides beds to children ages 3-17 who are sleeping in unwanted conditions such as a floor, sofa, or in a bed with parents or siblings.

Our chapter is excited to partner with Lowe’s for the 24 hour bed build at the Charlotte Convention Center starting at noon on Wednesday and ending at noon on Thursday. With a goal of 10K beds, thousands of volunteers are ensuring no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

Every child deserves a warm & safe bed to rest.

In 2026, Lowe's, Lowe’s Vendor Partners and Lowe's customers will partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 20,000 beds for children in need.

From April 2nd-24th you can donate at the Lowe’s in Mooresville to supply the bedding for the beds that will be given to kids in our community of Iredell County. You will be able to select a donation amount and scan at checkout.

These donations provide pillows, sheets and comforters to every child that receives a bed.
