WOW! WHAT A SEASON! Team SPORK competed with SPORKiana Jones at the North Carolina District Championship and had a great time! We got to see so many fun matches and so many games of Uno 🤣 While at the District Championship, we were able to our way to receiving the Excellence in Engineering award for the second time this season! But none of this would be possible without our mentors, our sponsors, and all of those supporting us. Thank you to everyone who supports us in any way, shape, or form!

Thank you to the Gene Haas Foundation for sponsoring Team SPORK! Without generous sponsors like you 🫵 Team SPORK would not be able to do any of what we do, which can range from competing in competitions, all the way to hosting FLL teams! So THANK YOU to the Gene Haas Foundation for making the team possible!

This past weekend, the team participated in the UNC Asheville District event, and we had an amazing time! During the event, we were the second pick of Alliance 5 alongside the alliance captain #11377 Nightmare Robotics, and Team #4828: RoboEagles. Though we fought valiantly, we ended up getting eliminated in our 3rd match of the double-elimination bracket. Thank you to everyone who helped showed up to cheer on our team. Hopefully we will see everyone at states!

WOW!!! Team SPORK had so much fun at the Cabarrus County District event. We placed 13th during the qualification matches, resulting in us being the first pick for Alliance 5 alongside alliance captain Iced Java Robotics and team #11377 Nightmare Robotics. Together, this amazing alliance placed 3rd overall in the competition! (Shout out to our wonderful drive team!) Team SPORK was also awarded Excellence in Engineering for our super fun robot named "SPORKiana Jones and the Fingers of DOOM." We're also proud of our impact award presenters for their hard work, and want to congratulate our leadership award semi-finalists who interviewed at this competition! Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported the teams. And even bigger thank you to our mentors who put in all their time and energy to help us succeed! We can't wait to compete at UNC Asheville!

Team SPORK was honored to participate in National Girls & Women in Sports Day at Honeywell this week! We gave 3rd–6th grade students the opportunity to drive SPORKReach, our outreach robot, and test their skills with our bean bag game while learning more about robotics and STEM. It was great to work alongside Anna from FIRST North Carolina and connect with so many students throughout the event. Thank you to Honeywell for hosting this celebration of sports and STEM!

WOW! Week 5 is almost over, and we only have 3 weeks until our first competition! It has come quicker than we thought it would, especially with some unexpected snow days! ❄️ Even though the snow was a lot of fun, our team had to do some serious locking in. That made a bunch of busy bees around the shop. Our CAD team was hard at work putting the finishing touches on our robot design, then cutting and printing components for our robot. Our Mechanical team continued prototyping and building out the CAD team's designs. Meanwhile, our Electrical team wired up our robot and edited our electrical drawings. And last, but not least, our Programing team has been working hard so our robot can drive and use limelights 😎

Team SPORK has had a great first couple weeks! Our mechinacal subteam has been working hard prototyping the intake and shooter mechanisms, build our chasiss and much more. Meanwhile, our electrical subteam has developed our electrical drawings along with wiring everything that the mechanical subteam build. However, before any of that could happen, our CAD team has worked hard to develop a functional design for our robot. And with all the progress that has been made, our programing team has begun driving and creating autos!

Team SPORK had a great kickoff! After watching the kickoff video together, Anna from FIRST North Carolina came to visit! We had a conversation about the new season, REBUILT. We also had a very innovative first week of designing and researching, as we started CAD designs and worked on the swerve modules. We would like to thank our mentors and coaches for supporting us!
