Another BEAR in KD!! Neighbors, we had another bear sighting last night (9/13) within King's Deer. This one was at the corner of Trumpeters and Brockenbury, and is at least the 3rd in the past few weeks. Please be mindful of our beautiful wildlife at all times; but especially during the active periods for bears foraging before hibernation, deer rutting in the Fall, etc.

Playground and Trail Spraying – September 5
Maintenance has advised us that, weather permitting, they will spray the playground area and remaining trails with a pre-emergent and non-selective w**d control. This should kill the remaining w**ds and prevent their regrowth. The crews plan to complete this work on Friday morning, September 5, and if the weather does not cooperate, then they will perform the spraying on the next available day. Spraying has been completed on the trail from Roller Coaster Rd and Kershaw, and following the loop around County Line Rd, Royal Troon Dr., White Cliff Way, then back up Roller Coaster Rd to the maintenance building. The remaining section to be completed tomorrow is west of the school and down to the far end of King’s Deer Point.

Please keep pets off the trails while the crews are spraying, and allow the maintenance crews the time and space needed to accomplish this task.

Owners whose properties contain trails are encouraged to help the community by dew**ding the trails throughout the growing season. Also, when mowing, we ask that you refrain from blowing the clippings on the trails, as this spreads the seeds and promotes w**d and vegetation growth on the trails. Further, please don't blow your clippings on the streets. Let's all work together to keep our community clean.

The new lamp post is in place at the corner of Archers and Trumpeters. Thanks to our board directors Mike Sauer and Kevin Pratt for supplying the manpower to make this happen, especially since this is a bus stop corner. MVEA will be replacing bulb and turning on the power shortly.

Trail Spraying – Sept 2 -5

Maintenance has advised us that, weather permitting, they will spray the King's Deer trails with a pre-emergent and non-selective w**d control. This should kill the remaining w**ds on the trails. The crews plan to start on Tuesday morning, September 2, and continue if not completed. If it looks like rain, the crews will delay the application to a day with more favorable weather conditions. They will start on the trail from Roller Coaster Rd and Kershaw, and follow the loop around County Line Rd, Royal Troon Dr., White Cliff Way, then back up Roller Coaster Rd to the maintenance building. When done with the big loop, they will start on the west side of Roller Coaster near the school and down King’s Deer Point.

Please keep pets off the trails while the crews are spraying, and allow the maintenance crews the time and space needed to accomplish this task.

Owners whose properties contain trails are encouraged to help the community by de-w**ding the trails throughout the growing season. Also, when mowing, we ask that you refrain from blowing the clippings on the trails, as this spreads the seeds and promotes w**d and vegetation growth on the trails.
