AJ Loonam Memorial Scholarship Fund

The A J Loonam Memorial Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization which will collect and donate funds to the New Milford High School Scholarship Fund.

The Papa & Loonam Family are having our annual Season of Giving and donation drive for AJ LOONAM SCHOLARSHIP FUND. We give annually two $1000 scholarships to NMHS graduates. This year we are receiving donations by mail instead of through the Facebook platform. Please make your checks payable to AJ LOONAM SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Congratulations to our THREE recipients this year. Sofia Ruiz, Sophia Albanese, Abby Petrolia.
In addition, we are pleased to announced that moving forward we will officially be awarding two scholarships each year. One scholarship will remain open to the student body based on an essay written on the students plan for the future.
The other will go to a senior who was part of the NMHS play during his or her senior year. This decision was inspired by one of this years winners, Sofia Ruiz. Sofia was the lead in the Addams family and hurt her foot the day before opening night. Sofia flawlessly adjusted the plan and performed the lead from a wheelchair.
Plans are important, and so is the ability to adapt.

At 6:00 tonight we will be presenting two $1000 Scholarships to a couple of spectacular New Milford high School Students.

This picture was a self portrait AJ did as an assignment in Mr. Pevny's class when AJ was a student at NMHS. We only became aware of this photo when AJ's brother Zach took the same class. Pev has used this photo as an example for his classes over the years.

Thank You to everyone who has supported our Scholarship fund. We are proud to announce that tonight we gave out scholarships to two New Milford High School graduating seniors.

Congratulations to Ricky Zheng and Megan Mackey on being named the recipients of the 2021 Anthony John “A.J.” Loonam scholarship.
