It's that time again -- the library's spring book sale!

(published in the Montrose Daily Press, 4/16/25)
My daffodils are blooming! My sandals are peeking out of the closet! My allergies are starting! Yep. You got it. Spring is here. Truly a great time of year as we vacillate between the promise of summer and the threat of one last snow! As we march through April, a few thoughts to share…
When you are getting after your spring cleaning, please remember the Montrose Friends of the Library and bring us your read, loved, or outgrown stories and media materials. We’re happy to help your feng shui; all donations are sorted, allocated new homes (Country Flair booth, next book sale, Donation shelves, Free Room, etc), and deeply appreciated.
Mark your calendar for the Spring Friends of the Library Book Sale! Thursday, April 24 (members only; join for $20) through Sunday, April 27 ($5/bag). This is even better than flowers and sandals…new (to me & you) books!! My TBR (to be read) shelves are groaning at the joints, but I am certain I can fit in a few more. LOL. All friends with similar reading habits (and book buying justifications) are welcome. Sale is in the front lobby of the Montrose Library, the atrium, and the community room. Only happens twice a year and we have close to 300 boxes of books ready to sell this time.
Remember why we read and love the library. The potential of the next great story, the well of knowledge, the trove of children's books, community activities, visiting authors, community services and meeting places. The list goes on and on. Our Library is a lovely space, home to curiosity, discourse, and community. Funds raised by the Friends of the Library support a range of programs, events, and outreach. We are grateful to our communities for their unwavering generosity in these endeavors and look forward to another successful book sale. Always happy to add fellow book lovers to our Board of Directors, also. Must come with a sense of humor, a desire to improve our community, and a late night reading habit. Ask any current BOD member for further details at the Sale!
