Your support, time, and generosity helped create a day of true magic.

✨ MEET OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPAL ✨

We are excited to introduce Dr. Mallory Shaffer as the Founding School Leader (Principal) of Montrose Classical Academy!

Dr. Shaffer is an educator and lifelong learner who brings over 14 years of experience in education, including working with students from diverse backgrounds and at-risk youth. She holds a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Administration and Leadership.

As the Founding School Leader of MCA, Dr. Shaffer will help build a school culture of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity. She is especially passionate about supporting teachers and staff in creating engaging learning environments that inspire curiosity and strong student engagement, and she believes education should equip students with knowledge while fostering critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning.

Many in our community may also recognize Dr. Shaffer as the Founder of the Montrose Children’s Museum, where she helped bring interactive, hands-on learning opportunities to thousands of children and families across the Western Slope.

Dr. Shaffer looks forward to partnering closely with families and the broader community as MCA begins its founding year.

MCA is accepting enrollment applications for our 2026–2027 school year!

MCA is a tuition-free public charter school opening in August 2026, serving grades K–5, with plans to grow to K–8.

🗓 Enrollment Application Window:
📅 Now – February 16, 2026 at 9pm
🎟 Lottery held if applications exceed available seats

Each family will create one Parent/Guardian account and submit one application per child they wish to enroll.

🌎 The enrollment application is available in multiple languages, including Spanish.
