Falkon Robotics is home to 139 high school students who have created a community to build a robot and spread STEAM in their community. They have spent 13 weeks brainstorming, designing, assembling, and programming our 2026 robot, “WALL-E.” Through this process, we were honored to win the Ventura District Event this year. 589 spreads STEAM in the La Crescenta-Glendale community through booths, robot demonstrations, and STEAM events. Through this process, students learn valuable life skills that prepare them for their futures: public speaking, teamwork, and communication!

We do not charge team dues and never turn away a student, ensuring that anyone who wants to participate can. Your donation, big or small, helps us open doors for 40 students to participate in this life-changing trip without any barriers. As we’ve worked hard to make STEAM accessible for our community, help us make Houston accessible for our members.

SOCAL CHAMPIONSHIP COMPLETED ✅️✅️ FIRST California

🏆 IMPACT AWARD WINNERS! This is the most prestigious award in FIRST that recognizes Falkon Robotics for years of sustained excellence in community efforts to increase access to STEAM. This award affirms that the over 80,000 tracked hours over the past 3 years students have spent planning, mentoring, volunteering, boothing, and more is making a difference in our community. It inspires us to continue pursuing our team mission "to create robotics programs that inspire students to pursue meaningful careers and develop confidence, teamwork, and communication skills to build a better world."
This award also earns Falkon Robotics a spot at the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston, Texas!

🤖 WALL-E FOR THE WIN! Our robot worked efficiently throughout the entire competition. Everyone saw our wonderful out of this world cross field passing!

🎨📱Extra shout out to our Visual Strategy team for their on the go spirit booth and our Scouting team for the incredible app data.

Yesterday, we hosted our 3rd Annual Engineering Expo: STEAM Through the Ages!

Attendees traversed through the different eras of time, with over 20 different activities correlating with a specific scientific era and 5 engaging rush events!

We were joined by local FIRST teams FRC Team 702 Bagel Bytes, FRC Team 980 Thunderbots, La Cañada Engineering Club, FTC Team 25 Rock N' Roll Robots, FTC Team 5218 Javabots plus community organizations NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Glendale Educational Foundation!

Through the 4-month planning process of this event, fully led by our students (with great support from our amazing mentors), we were able to reach over 750 attendees across 23 cities! We had over 100 volunteers to help us run this event and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Earlier this month, our team hosted a week-long Robotics and STEM summer camp for 45 students K-6th at the Verdugo Hills YMCA Foothills in Tujunga!

4th-6th graders became engineers by building their very own mini robots and competing in a game challenge, while Kinder-3rd graders learned about the everyday use of STEM through LEGO BricQ curriculum. All students also participated in fun challenges like marshmallow towers and LED cards.

Thank you to YMCA Foothills for having us, the Mary Pinola & Crescenta Valley Chamber Education Fund and Community Foundation of the Verdugos for supporting the purchase of the robotics equipment used at camp, and all of the volunteers who make this full-week camp happen!
