*In Loving Memory of Mike Trickey: A Tribute to a Remarkable Life**

With heavy hearts, we share with our community the passing of Mike Trickey on August 17th. Surrounded by his family, he left us peacefully. A United States Marine Corps veteran, Mike was the Executive Director of WHAFV from 2017 to 2022 and a dedicated board member of both WHAFV and MVMC. He spearheaded two major annual fundraisers for WHAFV—the Golf for the Troops Golf Tournament and the Blue Jean Ball. Mike was the visionary behind the Montrose Veterans Memorial Plaza and had an unwavering passion for our veteran community. He was a cherished mentor and leader to April and Amy, and he led with humor, kindness, and a can-do attitude. There are no words to express how much he will be missed.
Arrangements have been made for graveside services on August 28th at 2 PM at the Veterans Cemetery on Hog Back.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who volunteered on the 4th of July! It is an enormous responsibility with a multitude of moving parts and spontaneous changes. You all rose to the occasion and made it a resoundingly safe and fun-filled celebration!
