Beaver Town Chapter was organized in March 1980 under the efforts of Mrs. Bennett chose the chapter name to honor her home of Beaver, PA. Beaver is the English translation of the Delaware Indian word, Amockwi. The Delaware lived in this area of
Pennsylvania at one time. Beaver Town Chapter is located in southwestern Pennsylvania. John Hand Chapter was organized in November 1976. Organizing member

s chose the name John Hand
to honor the ancestor of their Organizing President, Dorothy Hand. John Hand settled at Lynn, MA IN 1635. He was one of nine men who founded East Hampton, Long Island, NY in 1648 when they
purchased land from the Indians. John Hand Chapter is located in the northeast corner of the state. Penn's Grant Chapter was organized in October 1973. The chapter's name originated from William Penn, the Founder of Pennsylvania. The chapter is centered in the southeast corner of the state,
where much of Pennsylvania's early history was concentrated. Three Rivers Chapter was the first Pennsylvania chapter and was organized in April 1961 by a group of Pittsburgh women. Three Rivers name refers to the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers that surround the Pittsburgh area in the southwest corner of the state.

I am so very saddened to report the loss of Mary Jane Matson, member of Penn’s Grant Chapter. Please join me in sending comforting thoughts to her family, friends, and chapter.

Mary Jane Matson of Valley Forge, age 97, passed away on April 17, 2026. The second of Albert and Mary Jane West Liggetts six children, Mary Jane was born on Sep. 27, 1928 in the small river town of Ripley, Ohio. She started working as a bookkeeper at a young

Elsie Standley, age 97, member of the Beaver Town Chapter, Colonial Dames 17th Century passed on April 4, 2026. Elsie's Colonial Dames details are:

Elsie Standley, member and previous officer, join date 02 June 1983, in the Beaver Town Chapter.

Her calling hours will be this Sunday, April 12, 2026 and the Funeral will be Monday April 13, at Noll Funeral Parlor, Beaver PA.

We wish her family, friends, and chapter comfort and peace in their memories of Elsie.

Thrilled to represent the State Society at today’s Pennsylvania250! Bells Across Pennsylvania Susquehanna County Bell unveiling ceremony. The bells are being placed in all 67 counties across the commonwealth. I was lucky to be joined in the cold by Michele Dembesky and Mary Ann Cunningham.
