We enjoyed hearing about San Juan Landing from the Domestic Violence Taskforce and an upcoming fundraising event they are having in October.

"San Juan Landing is a proposed housing development that will provide 12-18 month housing options for domestic violence victims, their immediate families, and pets. Serving the 7th Judicial District (7th JD), it will include 10 units, secure fencing and access, and on-site programming space taking the burden off victims to find essential resources at a critically difficult time. The 7th JD Domestic Violence Task Force has partnered with CASA of Montrose to fundraise for the building of San Juan Landing.

Their efforts will bring domestic violence messaging to the 7th JD region throughout the Summer of 2026, and culminate in a Gala/Event with speaker Janet Drake from the Colorado Attorney General's Office and keynote by The Gabby Petito Foundation."

One of the things Black Canyon Rotary is most passionate about is giving back to our community. Once a month, our club comes together for a service project, and we’ve been honored to help Sharing ministries on multiple occasions.

This time, we spent the day sorting and organizing fresh produce for families in need throughout Montrose and the surrounding areas. It’s always inspiring to support such a wonderful organization making a real difference right here at home.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and lent a hand. Service above self in action. 💛

Congratulations to Dave Frank from the Montrose Rotary Club!

5470 District Governor Maile Foster announces that Dave Frank of the Rotary Club of Montrose will serve as District Governor for the 2028–2029 Rotary year.
Dave Frank, a Rotarian for 10 years and Paul Harris Fellow +6, currently serves as Mayor of Montrose. He has served as Assistant Governor and served twice as president of the Rotary Club of Montrose Colorado.

Black Canyon Rotary had a great morning at the high school participating in Financial Reality and helping students experience “The Game of Life!”

Each student was given a profile complete with a family situation, job, credit score, and budget. From there, they visited different stations to make real-world financial decisions, choosing things like what kind of car to drive, what type of housing they could afford, and how to budget for daycare, clothing, toys, and even entertainment.

It was truly an eye-opening experience for the students to see what adulting really looks like and how quickly expenses add up.

We always enjoy being part of this valuable program and helping students build awareness around financial responsibility and decision-making. A fun and meaningful experience for everyone involved!

Our club had an awesome time volunteering at the high school’s Financial Reality Fair! We had fun teaching the high school seniors about how to manage their finances through an interactive activity.
