Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s advocacy days in Montpelier hosted by the Vermont Coalition of Nurse and Nurse Practitioners: Vermont Nurse Practitioners AssociationANA-Vermont Vermont Emergency Nurses Association

From planning, to doing, and sharing… everyone’s efforts, collaboration, and contributions made this year’s event meaningful, powerful, and productive.

It was a great two days where 130 nurses showed up for education sessions, legislative priorities review, keynote speaker: Healing Politics, a candlelight vigil for Alex Pretti, coffee hour with local legislators meeting with attendees, recognition on the House floor, a meeting with the lieutenant governor, and testifying for the House committee on Health Care.

There was so much engagement around learning and advocating to be at the table for successful and sustainable health care reform for ourselves, our colleagues, our patients, and our communities.

Well done! Looking forward to where we go next together in this year’s session.

What a great opportunity to come together with 130 nurses and nurse practitioners to educate, support, and advocate.

We were able to meet with the Lt. Governor, the House Health Committee, many local legislators during out coffee hour, and even recognized on the house floor by Representative McFaun.

Phenomenal job by all of the participants, your voice is needed and it was heard!

Vermont ENA stands with ENA (Emergency Nurses Association) 🕊️

We are saddened by these events and the loss of a colleague. It is such an important time to condemn acts of violence and continue to engage and advocate for the change that we want and need to see in our communities.

“The ENA community mourns Alex Pretti and extends its condolences to his loved ones and his nursing family.

Nurses play a vital role in their communities not only within the hospital, but anywhere someone needs help. We always try to do what’s right for others, using our clinical expertise to care for patients and relying on personal beliefs to show up for people, even beyond the stretcherside.

As details continue to emerge about recent events in Minnesota, ENA condemns any type of violence because emergency nurses see its damage firsthand – treating the injured, supporting devasted families and carrying the emotional toll long after the moment has passed.”

– ENA President Dustin Bass

Vermont EDs: how many of you require TNCC for all staff and does your facility pay for the class and for your time?
How about ENPC?

Thanks in advance!
