Green Up/Clean Up, Sat. Aug. 22nd, 9am-3pm
Sat Aug. 22nd the Upp (Union Playground Project) team and Parents group will be hosting a Green Up/Clean Up at our UES playgrounds. Both the upper and lower playgrounds need some sprucing up before our kids head back to school on Aug. 26. Yikes summer has flown by!
All of our major renovations will happen during Summer 2016. In the meantime here is what we can do. There are two ways to help; come Sat Aug. 22nd and get your hands dirty. If you are unable to make on the 22nd, there is a list of material needed at the bottom of the page (You may even have some of what we need laying around the house). Donations greatly appreciated!
As well, that evening Upp will be selling popcorn and lemonade at the Montpelier Alive Movie Night at the Capitol Lawn. We need volunteers from 7:30-9:30. If you are not available, maybe you would be willing to provide bags of popcorn, lemonade or paper cups.

To Do List:
Replace rotten bench slats
Power wash benches (to prepare for painting)
Paint red shed (under library window)
Paint benches
Move bench from under the two trees
Create a slackline
Move spinning barrel/paint
Paint picnic tables
Move basketball hoop
Plant blueberry bushes
Cut PVC pipes
Make wooden plant holders over cement blocks
Clean around the upper playground she
Sweep off asphalt areas on both playgrounds
Please bring your own tools if possible.
Hammer, shovel, paint brush, paint scrapers, saw, shop broom. Or anything else you think may be useful.
Materials Needed;
Planks/wood
Play sand
Outdoor paint
PVC pipes
Decking screws and or nails
We are also looking for gently used riding toys, as well as bike helmets.
