This event was so successful last year, we're doing it again. Join us on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30th, for the Poverty Law Panel featuring the current and past Vermont Poverty Law Fellows in a panel discussion moderated by Vermont Supreme Court Justice Karen Carroll. You can get a 1/2 credit of ethics CLE credit for this for $10 or you can just attend and learn how the Vermont Poverty Law Fellows have worked to help Vermonters who need it most.

Emily Kenyon, the current Vermont Poverty Law Fellow whose focus is on low-wage workers in Vermont, has worked on 84 cases since last October. That's 84 Vermonters and their families who have directly benefited from Emily's advocacy as she helps them navigate employment law issues. The ripple effect of this is enormous. Did you know that one in ten Vermonters is a veteran? Did you also know that the single leading factor for homelessness among veterans is lack of legal assistance.
The Vermont Bar Foundation is working wth the Veterans Legal Assistance Project of Vermont to address the very specific legal needs that face vets. VBF is actively fundraising for Veterans Legal Assistance Project and would love your support. You can donate at vtbarfoundation.org/donate and help those who have given so much to our country.

The Vermont Bar Foundation condemns in the strongest terms possible the violent events in Washington DC yesterday. The Foundation works every day to further the administration of justice, with a particular focus on ensuring access to justice for the most vulnerable among us. Make no mistake, the very concepts of justice and the rule of law depend on democracy, which is the bedrock foundation of our government. The attempt to overturn democratic results through violent means is antithetical to the rule of law, without which the Foundation could not do its work.” – Gavin Boyles (VBF Board President), Renee Mobbs (President-Elect), Amber Barber, Amelia Darrow, Judith Dillon Chris D’Elia, Tim Doherty, Bob Fletcher, Trey Martin, Harry Parker Mark Sciarrotta, and Sarah Wilson
