NEVER FORGET

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, we reflect with pride on 250 years of freedom, sacrifice, courage, and perseverance.

Within those 250 years, September 11, 2001, stands as one of the darkest days in our nation's history. Twenty-five years ago, our country was attacked, people were lost, and countless families and communities were forever changed.

But September 11 also showed the world the very best of America. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, public servants, and ordinary citizens ran toward danger to help others. Many made the ultimate sacrifice.

As Mayor of Montour Falls, I ask our community to pause on September 11 to remember those we lost, honor those who responded, and recognize the families, survivors, and first responders who continue to carry the memories and consequences of that day.

As we celebrate 250 years of our great nation, may we never forget that our freedoms have been strengthened by the courage and sacrifice of generations before us.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Hon. James Ryan
Mayor

As we approach Labor Day, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of working people throughout our community.

Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer. It is a day to honor the men and women whose daily efforts keep our families, businesses, communities, and nation moving forward. From our local businesses and farmers to educators, public servants, first responders, healthcare workers, tradespeople, and countless others, each of you plays an important role in making our community stronger.

Here in Montour Falls, I see that spirit of hard work and service every day. It is reflected in the people who open their businesses each morning, maintain our streets and public spaces, volunteer their time, care for their neighbors, and step forward when their community needs them.

Labor Day also gives us an opportunity to appreciate the value of working together. Our community is at its best when we support one another, shop locally, volunteer, lend a helping hand, and take pride in where we live.

On behalf of the Village of Montour Falls, I extend my sincere appreciation to all who work tirelessly to make our village and surrounding communities a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.

May this Labor Day weekend be a time to pause, enjoy time with family and friends, and reflect on the accomplishments of the past year.

Happy Labor Day to the hardworking men and women of Montour Falls and our entire community. Thank you for all that you do.!

Hon. James Ryan
Mayor
