Now that we've had a few days to recover, we'd like to thank everyone for coming out this last weekend to support us during the Monticello Homecoming festivities and bringing back the tradition of water fights! With the weather as hot as it was, it was nice to play in the water for a bit. Big thank you to Joe Thomm and Orangeville Volunteer Fire Dept. for organizing and putting together such a fun event and helping us bring back such a classic tradition! Also thank you to those of you from other departments that came out to join us! Congrats to all the winners and we hope to see everyone again for a rematch next year! 🔥

Reminder to come join us for water fights by the pool today at 1pm! All firefighters from the area are welcome to participate! Sign up begins at 12:30pm and is $5 per team to register. Spectators may or may not get wet! 😉

Thank you to Browntown Cadiz Jordan Fire District for having us and hosting another round of water fights this weekend! Was a beautiful day for it, and congrats to two of our own firefighters for winning 2nd place! Way to represent Brad Bernet and Garrett Grossen! 🔥👏🏻

🔥 Tuesday Training 🔥
For tonight's training we worked with Monroe Rural Fire District on grain bin rescue. Members practiced putting together the "Great Wall of Rescue" system, equipment designed to help someone trapped in various grain entrapment scenarios. The lightweight wall sections can be easily maneuvered into the grain and can be aligned to form a wall, a tube, or other irregular shape around the entrapped victim. This helps to stop the flow of grain around the victim and relieve any extra pressure when first responders are working around them. Then rescuers can start removing the grain around the victim, inside the tube. By having this system readily available, the chances of a successful grain entrapment rescue and the victim’s survival are significantly enhanced.
Thank you to Pleasant Grain for allowing us to use one of their bins for some realistic training!
