Sometimes the best shout outs ✨️ come from those we work with everyday. The Caring Angel Award 🥇is a program through our foundation that gives families, and others a way to recognize an employee from the Piatt County Nursing Home or Maple Point who they feel goes above and beyond their everyday work duties. Today board member Diane Williams and Foundation Liaison Crystal Jendry Alexander were honored to present Erica Hilderbrand, RN from Piatt County Nursing Home with her second caring angel pin. Erica's peer Kayden Kelley made the nomination. Our communities are very fortunate to have such amazing and compassionate employees who work at both of these facilities. ❤️

Your donations at work!
We are excited to share that the new courtyard sun shade ☀️ was recently installed at the Piatt County Nursing Home. Thanks to our donors residents can begin to utilize this once underused outdoor space that will now offer a comfortable shaded gathering area. We are grateful for your support.

THANK YOU for taking care of mother.

My family recognizes the hard work you put in on the daily. You took great care of mother during the short 10 weeks she was there.

To Heather and Danielle, thank you for answering every question my sister and I had. I know between us standing at the nurses desk, chasing you down in the hallways or calling on the phone, we probably drove you both crazy. We appreciate both of you and love you for the wonderful care you gave to our mother.

To Suzanna Brock - your heart is pure gold. Thank you for taking every phone call where my anxiety was over the top and helping me navigate everything PCNH! You are a rockstar! Love you.

We are thrilled to share that the State Bank of Bement made a generous donation yesterday towards the Intergenerational Playground Project. In the very near future we hope to see laughter and sunshine 🌞 being shared between the residents of Piatt County Nursing Home, Maple Point - An Affordable Assisted Living Community and the students at Monticello Christian Academy ✝️. Community support like this will make a lasting difference in the lives of our Seniors. ❤️

State Bank of Bement is proud to support Monticello Christian Academy’s new playground, helping bring the project within reach of completion and creating a safe, welcoming space for students and families.

✨️Celebrating our 2025 Caring Angel award recipients with an appreciation luncheon 🥗 last week. The Piatt County Nursing Home Foundation is honored to celebrate 🎉 those who have gone above and beyond for the residents of Piatt County Nursing Home and Maple Point - An Affordable Assisted Living Community. ❤️ The Caring Angel program is an opportunity for family members, residents and coworkers to nominate an employee who they feel has gone the extra mile and provides compassionate care to those they serve. Donations to the foundation board are made in honor of the nominee, and help to support future purchases and programs that benefit the residents and staff. We are excited to continue celebrating new 🎊 Caring Angels from both facilities and thank you to our donors and your continued support.






A total of 21 awards were given in 2025.

It’s so neat how these two local senior Piatt County facilities in Monticello, our Piatt County Nursing Home and our Maple Point - An Affordable Assisted Living Community are connected by this beautiful enclosed walkway that’s heated and air conditioned… and always beautifully decorated. It’s so welcoming!!

A special shout-out to Piatt County Nursing Home Foundation donors! You made it possible for the Foundation to purchase two new emergency crash carts for the Piatt County Nursing Home! 🤝❤️

"Having the new crash carts allows us to organize our emergency equipment ⚡️ reducing stress during high-pressure situations so that our staff can strictly focus on the patient" said Shannon Erwin, Director of Nursing at the nursing home.

Maple Point - An Affordable Assisted Living Community

The Piatt County Nursing Home facility's history roots are in the traditional "county poor farm" system, with records showing a, "new brick four room county poor farm house" on County Farm Road replacing older, burned structures in the late 19th century.

Yesterday, volunteers Marc Poling and Charlie Montgomery took a truck load of boxes full of books 📚to Orphan’s Treasure Box in Champaign for our Maple Point - An Affordable Assisted Living Community.

While at Maple Point, they saw Dietary Director Shelly Sheppard working in the kitchen. Shelly comes in at 4:30am 🕰 and continues to have a smile on her face throughout the day! 😁

What a work commitment & dedication to serving our Seniors!!! 🌟

Also yesterday, Maple Point took a bus load of their residents to one of their favorite places to eat - The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
