Danielle Atkinson provided a very interesting program about successful women in history, including one of the DAR founding four women, Mary Desha, and a story about the cherry trees in Washington DC and the various women that made them happen.

Along with numerous other awards received by the Chapter, we would like to congratulate and thank Doris Jones, Danielle Atkinson, and Jane Dalton for their many hours of digitizing thousands of old Wayne County School records for preservation. Thanks, Ladies!

Nicholas Mercer Chapter donated 63 cans of vegetables to House of Blessings and several ladies took turkeys for their Thanksgiving meal.

The Nicholas Mercer Chapter met Monday evening for our annual picnic, at which we honored Judy Lawson for achieving 50 years of membership in Daughters of the American Revolution! We also swore in several members who have joined over the past three years.
